same thing applies, a little bit of elbow grease racism towards whites and "honorary aryan" east asians and indians would have prevented this

the first rule of building alligator fueled concentration camps is making it very clear who's gonna get fed to the alligators, otherwise you're just spreading terror in a way that hurts your interests

in reply to whiteline

they are just too stupid or uncaring to do this basic thing, which is very concerning when it comes to their future use of violence and oppression

ICE is just trumps goon army now, transformed by flooding it with money and dubious recruits and led by loyalists, they're currently in the phase where they drag off women and children to establish precedent that they can do whatever they want

that's "rational", but for example being completely reckless and starting a low-level civil war by escalating it to dragging off blue state leadership people under dubious treason charges isn't

in reply to nemesis

the southern border is basically 100% closed now. as much as i disagree with some other stuff trump is doing, they have done a great job on the border and also overall i think ice enforcement has done as good a job as they can with their resources, and it looks like they're actually getting ready to ramp up to the level necessary to deport millions of people.

there is huge potential for abuse when building up a massive standing army of this sort but that's the situation we've been put in. we can't allow this country to turn into france or england and be overrun by infinity 3rd world rapists and narco gangs and haitian voodoo cat eaters

i'm not sure about that. in the past most may have been visa overstays but considering the numbers that came through the border during the biden admin i don't think that's true anymore- but yes we have a lot of visa overstays. it makes no difference. they all have to go home.

so far we've seen 1 case of harrassment of a european tourist. one. how about another example?

in reply to woodland creature

I was referring to this case (newsweek.com/ice-tourist-immig…) but if you want a personal example, I'm afraid of bringing my british wife to even visit my family in the US at this point, despite her being a white british person married to a US citizen who *isnt even trying to immigrate*. that isnt a sensible enforcement of immigration laws
in reply to Fish of Rage

law enforcement get on a power trip. it attracts a certain personality type. granted i havne't been through customs in a long time so i'll take your word for it, but regardless illegals have to go and for the most part what i've seen in the ice enforcement they have done a good job and been professional in spite of all the hostility the're facing. customs working at the airport may be another story

i vibe coded an app with gemini and it was a huge pain in the ass to get it to work as a browser extension, but i have the rough draft of something that will run LLM classification locally in your browser whenever you look at negative news headlines and suggest places for you to donate to fix the issue. no more of this bullshit sharing for awareness. with this extension you will get prodded to actually help make a change in the world if you read an upsetting news headline

## Fraud, Theft, and Corruption Related to Ukraine War Aid and Weapons

### Major Cases of Fraud and Embezzlement

- **$40 Million Weapons Procurement Fraud (2022–2024)**
- Ukrainian defense officials and employees of the arms supplier Lviv Arsenal conspired to embezzle nearly $40 million intended for the purchase of 100,000 mortar shells. The shells were never delivered, and the funds were diverted to accounts in Ukraine and the Balkans. Five individuals were charged, and one was apprehended while attempting to flee the country. The misappropriated funds have been confiscated and are to be returned to Ukraine’s defense budget[1][2][3][4].

- **$17.7 Million Military Procurement Scam**
- Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) accused five people, including a former defense ministry official and company owners, of embezzling $17.7 million between August and December 2022. The funds were meant for military procurement at the start of the Russian invasion. Some of the money was allegedly used to buy real estate in Croatia[5].

- **Embezzlement by 30 Officials**
- Law enforcement uncovered a scheme involving 30 officials who embezzled $3.3 million allocated for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The funds were misused for inflated contracts for fuel, electricity, natural gas, furniture, and construction. Some suspects also acquired land and assets through these schemes[6].

- **Large-Scale Defense Industry Fraud**
- A former executive of Ukraine’s state defense conglomerate, Ukroboronprom, allegedly transferred over $46 million from state-owned enterprises to foreign accounts, disguised as payments for “agent services.” The funds were used to acquire luxury assets in France, including a villa and vineyards. French authorities have seized these assets, and extradition is being sought[7][8].

### Weapons Theft and Black Market Activity

- **Arms Trafficking and Black Market Seizures**
- Ukrainian law enforcement has conducted widespread raids, seizing large quantities of weapons and ammunition from criminal networks. In Lviv (August 2024), police dismantled a trafficking ring, seizing 72 pistols, 20 assault rifles, 29 grenades, and nearly 49,000 rounds of ammunition. In Kyiv (September 2024), authorities seized 132 rounds of grenade launcher ammunition and other weapons. Some seizures involved active military personnel selling high-grade weapons, including anti-aircraft guns and US-made machine guns[9][10][11].

- **Historical and Ongoing Diversion**
- Ukraine has a long history of arms trafficking, with parliamentary investigations estimating $32 billion in military assets lost to theft and illicit sales between 1992 and 1998. While oversight has improved, the war has created new opportunities for black market activity, especially with trophy weapons and surplus arms[9][12].

- **International Oversight and Monitoring**
- Western partners and Ukrainian authorities have implemented strict tracking and oversight mechanisms for military aid. While there is no verified evidence of US- or EU-provided weapons being trafficked outside Ukraine, the risk of diversion remains a concern, and ongoing investigations continue[13][12][14].

### Summary Table: Key Cases

| Case/Type | Amount Involved | Description/Outcome |
|--------------------------------------------|-------------------------|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Lviv Arsenal Shell Procurement Fraud | $40 million | Embezzled for undelivered shells; funds confiscated[1][2][3] |
| Military Procurement Scam (NABU) | $17.7 million | Embezzled by officials and suppliers; real estate bought abroad[5]|
| 30 Officials Embezzlement | $3.3 million | Inflated contracts for military needs; assets seized[6] |
| Ukroboronprom Executive Fraud | $46 million | Funds laundered into French assets; assets seized[7][8] |
| Lviv Arms Trafficking Ring | N/A (weapons seized) | 72 pistols, 20 rifles, 29 grenades, 49,000 rounds seized[10] |

### Additional Notes

- **Weapons black market activity** is mostly contained within Ukraine, with no verified large-scale trafficking of Western-supplied arms into the EU, but the risk persists[12][14].
- **Anti-corruption efforts** are ongoing, with dozens of investigations, suspensions, and asset seizures reported in 2023–2025[13][2][3].
- **Oversight by international partners** (US, EU) has not found widespread diversion of aid, but isolated cases of fraud and theft have been prosecuted[13][15].

These cases highlight the ongoing challenges of fraud, theft, and corruption in the context of the Ukraine war, as well as the active efforts by Ukrainian and international authorities to detect, investigate, and recover misused funds and stolen materiel.

🌿 Personal Ethics: A Powerful Antidote to Narcissistic Justifications 🌿

Narcissistic minds often craft elaborate justifications to shield their actions from criticism, blurring the lines between right and wrong. Here, personal ethics become a vital compass — an inner guide rooted in honesty, integrity, and empathy.

By cultivating our own ethical standards, we resist the temptation to rationalize harmful behaviors—whether in others or ourselves. This clarity helps those affected by narcissistic abuse stand firm, and encourages narcissistic individuals to confront the truth with humility and growth.

Remember: Strong personal ethics empower us to see beyond manipulation and embrace genuine connection. 💙 #NPD #PersonalEthics #MentalHealth #NarcissisticAbuseRecovery

Interview on The Final Straw, with anarchist author and activist, Peter Gelderloos about his latest book:

The Solution are already here -
Strategies for an ecological revolution from below

"So intelligent solutions to problems come from people who know their territory on the ground, who know what resources are available to them. And they're equally global, they just come from the territory, they come from below, and not from boardrooms or conference rooms where they're not looking at territory, they're looking at maps. And they look first and foremost at their own interests in maintaining control. Because their ability to do anything in response to the problem is really based on our immobility, our dependence, and our enforced passivity."

Heating Up:
An Interview with Peter Gelderloos on #ClimateChange and the Fight to Change Everything

"This summer brought yet another record heat wave, as climate change fueled disasters hit countries around the world, leaving human communities devastated by flooding, wildfires, and storms. While this “new normal” has brought climate change to the forefront of popular consciousness, we’ve also seen the far-Right spinning new conspiracies and the neoliberal center pushing the same tired consumerist lifestyle changes as false solutions.

In this context, we sat down with long-time anarchist author and organizer Peter Gelderloos, to talk about the present moment, the path ahead for autonomous movements, and the harsh realities in front of us."

Beyond raw horsepower, 7-Zip quietly tightens its handling of several legacy formats. Support for ZIP, CcPIO, and FAT archives has been refined, smoothing edge-case extractions that previously required third-party tools.

Over the years there was a few .zip archives that 7z could not handle for whatever reason. For these cases I had to use another application, but don't know the reason. And my bad to not keeping copies of these files for future testing.

If this doesn’t sound like democracy, it is because it is not. Surveillance Capitalism isn’t compatible with democracy.

Hamas Submits Unified Palestinian Ceasefire Response, Resistance Applauds Hamas

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas announced on Saturday that it has completed wide-ranging consultations with fellow Palestinian factions and submitted a joint response to mediators on the latest ceasefire framework aimed at halting the Zionist occupation’s war on the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued by its National Relations Office, Hamas said it held “an extensive series of contacts” with leaders of national and Islamic factions to coordinate and agree on a single position regarding the proposal’s terms and the mechanisms for implementation.

The talks, described as “serious and practical,” produced what the movement called a “unified national consensus” backing the stance of the Palestinian resistance.

“All factions welcomed this unified reply,” the statement noted, adding that the response was forwarded to mediators “in a positive spirit and with full unanimity” after both internal and external consultations were finalized.

United front to end the genocide

Hamas stressed that the joint effort reflects “responsible Palestinian leadership” seeking to preserve the achievements of the Palestinian people and ensure a united front to end the genocide being waged against our people in Gaza.

A Zionist official told the occupation media on Saturday that its delegation will travel to Doha in the coming days “to complete the deal,” indicating that indirect negotiations are poised to resume in the Qatari capital.

The response follows the unveiling of what US President Donald Trump labeled a “final proposal” for a 60-day ceasefire, an initiative reportedly rooted in the Witkoff Plan and coordinated with Qatar, Egypt, and the US administration.

According to Zionist reports, the deal includes phased military withdrawals, the release of captives and bodies, and a framework for extended negotiations toward a permanent agreement.

Another deal on the way?

While the occupation has not pledged to end its war on Gaza, it has reportedly expressed conditional approval to resume dialogue beyond the initial truce period. Yet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has remained silent, even as pressure mounts from the international community over his government’s ongoing destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure and refusal to commit to a full ceasefire.

“We have handed the mediators, Qatar and Egypt, our response to the ceasefire proposal,” a Hamas official told Reuters. “The Hamas response is positive and I think it should help and facilitate reaching a deal,” added another official involved in the talks.

The proposed ceasefire would see a phased release of captives held by the resistance, beginning with 8 live captives on the first day and additional releases on days 50 and 60, alongside the return of 18 bodies. In exchange, the occupation would begin withdrawing its forces from northern and southern Gaza under UN and Red Crescent oversight. Technical teams would work on boundary demarcations, while humanitarian aid would begin flowing immediately.

Longer-term arrangements, set to begin on day one of the truce, include defining terms for further prisoner exchanges, negotiating a permanent ceasefire, determining Gaza’s future security framework, and establishing international guarantees. Mediators would ensure compliance and could extend the truce if substantial progress is made.

Resistance factions respond positively

Palestinian Resistance factions congratulated the efforts of the Hamas negotiating delegation on their shaping of the agreement and the dignified ceasefire proposal. Across the political spectrum, factions issued statements in support of Hamas’ decision to stop the war, ahead of a likely pan-faction meeting that will take place this week.

Since the beginning of the war, the factions, with all their colors and ideologies, have entrusted Hamas with the mantle to negotiate on their behalf.

PIJ confirmed that Hamas consulted with them and provided detailed feedback on implementation for a responsible reply.

A PFLP leadership source told Al-Hadaf that the Front met with Hamas to seriously discuss the draft. They offered feedback and amendments, which were approved, to stop the war and allow aid without obstacles. The PFLP’s changes concerned the wording of clauses to avoid exploitation by the occupation and a return of the aggression.

The Popular Resistance Committees issued a statement blessing the “serious, responsible, and national position” carried by the Palestinian negotiating delegation, highlighting their great flexibility in reaching an agreement. They confirmed that Hamas met with the PRC leadership, too, and called on the mediators to compel the zionist entity to accept the agreement to end the “greatest holocaust ever inflicted on our Palestinian people.”

The DFLP welcomed Hamas’ position, stating that their position is “based on deep awareness of our people’s right to stop the killing, starvation, thirst, and death machine.” They affirmed that they held consultations with Hamas and PIJ in Egypt, and the unified national vision for the day after the war. They, too, warned against zionist attempts to violate the agreement.

Similarly, the PFLP – GC stated that they support the “wise steps concerning the exchange deal and cessation of zionist aggression that Hamas has matured after consulting with the factions.” They affirmed that the factions emerged with an outline after several rounds of discussions, which preserves dignity, honors sacrifices, guarantees an end to the US-“israeli” war, and secures withdrawal. They cautioned against zionist and American tricks to return to aggression.

The Ahrar Movement also issued congratulations to the Palestinian negotiators, which they stated reflected high national responsibility, sovereign will, and sharp political acumen.

The Mujahideen Movement commended the negotiator’s position, stating that it represents both seriousness and flexibility. They demanded that the mediators assume their responsibility in guaranteeing the ceasefire.

The Fatah Al-Intifada movement congratulated Hamas on its “great national achievement” against the “zionist occupier and its partner, American imperialism and NATO allies.” They expressed their confidence in Hamas’ continued leadership of the Palestinian resistance on the path to liberation from the river to the sea.

Weird line tearing on KDE

Posting here too as I've not had any responses in the more relevant communities.

Hi there, I've got these really odd issue where certain windows will cause random lines like the one in the screenshot appear on my screen. They will often flicker a bit and will dissapear if I hover my mouse over them. The lines will display what is beneath the window itself. These occour quite frequently and are frankly getting quite annoying to deal with.

Is this a known issue with KDE right now? It does not happen while using Gnome on the same machine + screen. If it matters I am running CachyOS+KDE 6.4.1+AMD.

If there is anythign I can do to fix this then I'd greatly appriciate some pointers!
