Al-Laham is also the manager of the West Bank offices of the Lebanese channel Al-Mayadeen, which is affiliated with Hezbollah. According to Maan, last night IDF forces arrested him at his home in the village of al-Doha in the Bethlehem area, and during the arrest the forces caused destruction in his house. It was also reported that al-Laham is expected to be brought to the Ofer court this coming Thursday for a hearing on extending his detention. The IDF has not yet provided a response on the matter.

Speaking of tickets; in NSW you just tap your Opal card when entering/leaving train stations. It makes so much more sense and is so much easier.
Don't even need an Opal card- just tap your phone or your bank card.
The network is also massive. You can tap on in Kiama and tap off in Scone. That's about 400km, roughly equivalent to Berlin to Frankfurt, on regular metro trains. Might take a while, but you can do it.

This is as random as it can be, and willingness to participate in the survey was not a significant factor in it.

Also, though…it is just deeply heartening to randomly encounter a protest: not a thing that I already knew about, but a thing that just •showed up• in my neighborhood. It makes me feel like the circle of resistance is much bigger than my own little circle. And it is.

Fascism depends to a •very• large extent on anticipatory compliance. It needs people to feel like things are going that way, it’s already a done deal, better to just go along with it.
Every time dissent is visible, every way dissent feels ubiquitous, every time somebody feels like they’re not alone in opposition, every time somebody who’s tempted to comply fears there might be hell to pay if they do — that directly, concretely damages the fascists’ power.
