I successfully upgraded my system disk from 256GB to 1To, it was a bit stressful, but everything went according to plan! I used a Live USB to run dd, then gparted, then I removed the original drive and turned the computer back on. I have back ups of everything, you shouldn't do any of that without a back up. Mixing source and destination could destroy everything.

We can say that people brought disaster themselves without wishing for disaster to harm them.
