Ο Günay Dağ, επαναστάτης δικηγόρος από την Τουρκία, κατέφυγε στην Ελλάδα για να ζητήσει πολιτικό άσυλο λόγω πολιτικής δίωξης, συνεχιζόμενων συλλήψεων και πολιτικών δικών στην Τουρκία. Του χορηγήθηκε το καθεστώς πολιτικού ασύλου το 2022. Ωστόσο, στις 28 Απριλίου 2025, του επιδόθηκε απόφαση, με την οποία ανακαλείται το καθεστώς ασύλου του με την αιτιολογία ότι αποτελεί «απειλή για την εθνική ασφάλεια».

Ο Günay Dağ ξεκίνησε απεργία πείνας στις 12 Μαΐου για να διαμαρτυρηθεί για την αυθαίρετη και παράνομη ανάκληση του δικαιώματός του στο πολιτικό άσυλο και να απαιτήσει την αποκατάσταση του. Επιπλέον, ο Günay Dağ έχει προσφύγει κατά της παράνομης αυτής απόφασης. Η επανεξέταση της προσφυγής θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Παρασκευή 18 Ιουλίου, στις 11:00 π.μ., στην Αρχή Προσφυγών. Καλούμε όλους και όλες, τις οργανώσεις , τις συλλογικότητες, τις ομάδες, τους υπερασπιστές των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων να συμμετάσχουν σε μια συγκέντρωση αλληλεγγύης στις 18 Ιουλίου στις 10:30 π.μ. έξω από την Αρχή Διοικητικών Προσφυγών στη διεύθυνση Θηβών 196-198, όπου θα εξεταστεί η έφεση.

In June, there were over a dozen inmates given over to federal immigration authorities. 11 of the inmates were from Mexico, 6 from Guatemala, and there was one from Colombia, El Salvador, and Honduras each. The ages of the illegal immigrant inmates range from 19 to 63.

This image was taken yesterday in the Lyons Ranch Historical District in Redwood National and State Parks. In the center of the image is a barn on a hillside, with trees in the background, all under a blue sky. Vegetation around the barn has been freshly cut. A single tree grows next to the barn, which is constructed of large redwood planks. The construction date for this barn is circa 1898. Wooden shingles cover the roof, which has an intriguingly angled roofline. The trail to the barn starts at about 2500 feet in elevation and descends through several sections of oak woodland. Prescribed fire was used on the nearby prairies by the Lyons family as a part of their sheep ranching operations.
