Hungary: Maja’s Statement on the End of Her Hunger Strike
Dear people, dear comrades and people who support me,
My name is Maja. Since June 5, I have been on hunger strike [ see here ; Ed. ]. I started it to protest my illegal and unredressed extradition from Germany to Hungary a year ago, the repressive persecution of anti-fascists, the dubious legal proceedings with a pre-determined outcome, my solitary confinement, which continues to this day, and the inhumane conditions of detention in Hungarian jails. Now, after almost six weeks, I have decided to suspend my hunger strike.
I don’t want to continue abusing my health, because I feel that if I don’t turn around now, it will soon be too late. So, it wouldn’t do much good if my requests were met. I would be scarred for life, perhaps I already am. I never wanted to get to this point; I naively hoped that something as radical as the hunger strike would finally raise awareness among those in charge and all those who can change something, that they would take action, after a year of soothing statements, smiles, and ignorance.
Now, there’s not much left of me. My body—a skeleton, with an intact, fighting, and living spirit. It smiles, searches the horizon for freedom and community, and refuses to accept the lack of justice. But I’m not ready to take the step toward imminent death. Of course, we’re not sure; maybe there are still a few days, maybe a few weeks. But if I were to lose consciousness, I would be shifting the responsibility onto the people fighting alongside me, something I’m not ready to impose on anyone. The same would happen if I were subjected to force-feeding.
On July 1st, I was transferred to a prison hospital, 250 km from Budapest, because by then there were already serious concerns about the stability of my health. The new location is quieter than the jail in the big city, but just as isolated, if not more so. Contact with my family is also severely limited. My lawyer, always an indispensable support, now needs a whole day to visit me. During my hour-long walk in the courtyard, I don’t meet any fellow inmates. I spend the remaining 23 hours in the cell, because there are no activities here. The loneliness is heartbreaking, homesickness fills the horizon. Medically, it is possible to get the body back on its feet in this place, but mental recovery seems impossible here. With the predictable return to Budapest, nothing will have changed, because there awaits me what made the hunger strike a necessity. Neither hospital nor prison in Hungary can be a solution.
My demands remain unchanged! I require a transfer back to Germany or house arrest and legal proceedings in accordance with the rule of law. I am determined not to remain silent and to protest, even in the future, for as long as necessary.
I am now ending my hunger strike so that no one is responsible for any long-term or permanent damage to my health. However, this does not absolve anyone of the responsibility to create humane detention conditions, free from pain and suffering, for everyone, to conduct independent judicial proceedings in accordance with the rule of law, whose sentence is not written in advance, and to guarantee the integrity of the detained person, to respect their dignity instead of despising and punishing them. If this does not happen, if my demands are still ignored, I am determined to resume my hunger strike.
I demand what is necessary—that I be able to be at home with my family, that I be able to develop through school, work, etc., that I be able to prepare for trial on an equal footing and no longer be buried alive in a cell. I am still waiting for a clear and honest word, an apology from those responsible for my extradition, as well as an offer of reparation. Even if it comes last, it is the most important thing to me.
Thank you to all those who spoke out, who stood by our side, and to those who have been there, courageously, for a long time, to those who firmly defend the need for anti-fascism, to those who support us, who sacrifice nights and days, who donate, and who are anchors. This diversity is called resistance and utopia at the same time. My thoughts constantly go out to my family and close comrades, knowing the pain they are experiencing and admiring their courage and self-sacrifice. My thanks are expressed today in words. But rest assured that the seed of solidarity with what is possible has fallen on fertile soil. Thus, I hope that not only I, but also many others have been able to unite courage and strength of will, in these last weeks, to look forward, hand in hand, never forgiving, but smiling.

Police Claim 6 Guerrilla Cadres Killed In Skirmish With Security Personnel In Narayanpur District
Narayanpur District, July 18, 2025: At least six persons police claim to be cadres of the CPI (Maoist) were killed in a firefight with security personnel in the hilly forested terrain of Abujhmad region in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, about 400 km south of Raipur, State Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) P. Sundarraj announced to the press today.
A combing operation was launched by a joint team of security forces in the Abujhmad region based on intelligence inputs about the presence of Maoist cadres in the area. An exchange of fire ensued on Friday afternoon and continued intermittently in the forest. Six bodies have been recovered so far from the encounter scene, the IGP stated in his report to the press, adding that the security forces have recovered one AK-47, a Self Loading rifle and other weapons, as well as explosives materials and items of daily use from the site of the gun battle.
The IGP concluded his remarks to the press by saying that as the search operation remains underway, further operational details could not to be shared, adding that there was however no report of any injury sustained by the security forces.
According to police officials, Abujhmad region in Narayanpur district, is among the seven Maoist-affected districts in Bastar Region, and is cited by police authorities as an epicenter of Maoist activity in south Chhattisgarh.

Oh my goodness. I wanted to let our grandson enjoy his birthday week without having to work at our house. He was hesitant but I told him we had everything under control. Today, I grabbed the, too tall for me battery weedeater, and attacked the weeds around our raspberry patch like they were weasley politicians. I worked until both batteries were depleted and my arms felt like jello. What started out as a smaller project just kept getting bigger and bigger. This happens to me sometimes because I can't leave well enough, well enough. Summer supervised the work and now she is directing the rest period. my lib friends are going apeshit over late show being canceled, "its the top rated late night show!" I am sure you're right there are multiple reasons for the cancelation but they probably had an absolute financial performance number that even as the "top show" it wasn't cutting it.

I think that's a big part of it, but I think it's also not quite the impact these people and programs had in the 2000s.

The Dead or Alive game cannot actually be bought. It's region locked. Maybe a brownoid like you can access it. Plus it's just a photo taking game anyway so it's probably not even close to lewd enough or thrilling enough for normal people or even you.
Gal Guardians 2 is... it's tough to recommend but also tough to say anything bad about. The entire thing feels like they had no clue what the final game design was going to be like until probably a couple weeks prior to release. That said, it's Inti Creates, they have been doing this since the GBA era and while they have had to be whacked with a newspaper to stop being stupid MANY times they know what they're doing generally, so the game itself is good and if nothing else it's a solid Metroidvania that gives you Black Panther about halfway through and makes it even more absurdly OP.
So you have to pirate the first and the second is buy on sale except if your tolerance levels consider that stuff perfectly fine to deal with.
I gave Citadel 1 a shot and I will give it to you: This is Hideous Destructor but only the good, cool, fun parts minus the gay slow autism impenetrable bullshit. Which is high praise to all of the two people who played HD. Great shooting.

I think the real precedent isn’t the Nazis but Stalin’s brutal ethnic deportations after WW2, which killed at least hundreds of thousands, in some cases the majority of the deported group.
Stalin did. Forced population transfers were a favored tactic. Ukraine hasn't forgotten about the forced transfer of the Crimean Tatars. Pre-WWII, many thousands of Jews were deported to Siberia from e.g. Lithuania and Belarus. Post-WWII there were different forced transfers in different directions. It goes without saying that this killed people, a lot of people.
You underestimate the “can do spirit” of Americans, perhaps. Efficient disposal solutions will likely become quickly necessary just to cover up the nuisance and bother. I doubt many supporters of the regime have serious qualms about this. It will be cheap, politically.

You're right, it's simply not possible to deport millions of people. When the logistics of trying to move that many people starts to break down, things get really dark.
That's how concentration camps become death camps.
Hitler went after wealthy Jewish people, taking everything they owned, right down to their gold fillings. If the rich think Trump wouldn't go after them, they're fooling themselves. He has no loyalty but expects it in return. On any given day Trump would trade Don Jr. for a bucket of KFC.
This would be on a similar scale as the deportations and transports to concentration camps in Nazi Germany (some 4 million people interred in total, in a population of 80 million).
This was logistically a huge task and stretched the system and it only worked because it didn't matter how the people were treated or if they died during transport or in the camps from disease and starvation (I don't mean extermination camps here).
It was Timothy Snyder's book "Black Earth" that opened my eyes to the reality that deporting people at scale is impossible, that keeping people alive in captivity is difficult and expensive, and that it was incompetence in addition to evil which caused the Nazi concentration camps to become death camps. Was done in Pomerania. Was done in east Prussia. Was done in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Was done in Moscow. Was done in Ukraine. If you include Refugees, it's done in every other war. Syria, Afghanistan, Irak, Central African Republic, Ukraine, the list goes on and on. Even constructing whole new cities is certainly possible. Takes some time, but is possible. Look at the Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank.
