Bugger. My Pixel 6 restarted earlier on its own. I didn't think much of it at the time but now the shutdown/restart/lock button doesn't seem to work at all. Is there any other way of being able to lock or restart your phone? A restart might actually fix the problem but I can't figure out how to do it...

I had a few "folders" on my homepage containing browser links as well as a load of links directly scattered amongst my apps. USB connection between the phones for transfer doesn't copy them. Nor does syncing Firefox. I hate tech.

It appears Pixel Launcher will transfer apps to a new device but not shortcuts or folders of shortcuts. And it's not stored in a folder structure, but in a DB. How shit is that?

@niavy I did an FF backup which got bookmarks, but not pinned sites (I've added them manually). I was cock a hoop when discovering you could create folders of shortcuts and just assumed either the browser or OS would handle them for a device change. It's all a bit shit.

Curl has been desperately trying to deal with AI bug reports for a while now. I wouldn't be surprised if curl, starts requiring methodical steps to replicate the issue. This way, even if the report is invalid, a quick test will figure that out.
I'm pretty concerned about Chrome stopping its support for Linux. Chromium has a surprising amount of influence, not just in the web, but even in desktop apps with Electron. Losing chromium would be a huge blow at this point.
Parental control software is important imho. It would be great to see a review of what’s available.
The more parents can consider Linux a viable option for their kids (as it’s harder to mess up the system you setup for them) the more future Linux users we will have as they grow.
At the moment I ended up using ElementaryOS purely because of their superior parental control, but the distribution itself isn’t great, especially due to their upgrade experience, so it would be great to see what are the alternatives

I like BO3 zombies but I can't even justify these prices even with steam workshop support and dozens of maps in that game. @kilostere @luithe It was right place right time. Battle Royale was "in" because of PUBG and Fortnite managed to be the lucky winner. Epic literally stumbled into their success, Fortnite's development is the story of 20 different failed projects being meshed into a game meant to make a quick buck and somehow succeeding. It had been in development as a L4D zombie game competitor all the way back when L4D came out, then a survival base building game was piled onto that to milk minecraft, and so on and so forth. It's a wonder the game even came out when you realize how shoddy the development was. It's basically if Duke Nukem Forever was the bestselling game of the decade.
Epic killed all their other projects and delisted every other game they ever made in order to make sure Fortnite didn't lose the success wave it made. A curse on the world.

@kilostere @luithe Some developers were arguing about it being "good" because epic would throw free money at them. That money seems to have vanished though and all that's left is epic using Fortnite and Unreal Engine to prop up their client (yes, if you want to develop with unreal engine, you need to use their shitty slow resource intensive nightmare client). The only other actual argument was Epic having a smaller cut of dev cash, which in theory is correct but in execution the cut valve takes gives you a damn good platform. Epic takes less cut and delivers practically nothing. The argument of "valve monopoly bad" was worthless from the start by the existence of GOG and so many other platforms.
