  • Why didn’t the 9,103,332 people of the Confederate States of America deserve self-determination?
  • Why don’t the 4,543,126 people of Palestine deserve self-determination?
  • Why didn’t the 10.3 million people of the separatist oblasts of Ukraine deserve self-determination?

#Self-determination is just another #Enlightenment #inversion. It means that #ClownWorld will claim it is a casus belli whenever it wants a #war, and use military force to deny whenever it fears losing control. Unless the USA is going to go to war with #Israel, #Ukraine, and #Spain, and permit the former-Confederate states to depart the #Union in #peace, it has absolutely no business claiming any right or responsibility to “defend” one part of #China from the rest of it.

Für diese Aussage wären im Grunde fünf Euro ins Phrasenschwein fällig, denn die Anzahl der Medien, die um die Gunst der Leser und Zuschauer buhlen, war noch nie so hoch. Wir leisten uns in #Deutschland den Luxus eines hochbezahlten öffentlich-rechtlichen #Rundfunks, für den die #Sendeanstalten 8,74 Milliarden Euro im vergangenen Jahr eingesammelt haben. Dazu kommt eine sehr große Anzahl an Zeitungen, die sich von der klassischen regionalen #Tageszeitung bis hin zum überregional bedeutenden Blatt bewegen. Auch die neuen oder alternativen Medien haben in den vergangenen Jahren ein enormes Wachstum hingelegt. Hinzu kommen Fachzeitschriften für jede noch so ausgefallene Profession und mannigfaltige Hobbies. Man könnte also im Grunde von einer bestens informierten Gesellschaft ausgehen und läge damit so weit daneben, wie es nur eben noch geht.

Acquaintance of mine adopted a kitten but her senior cat (female) keeps attacking him. She was about to take him back to the Humane Society. I agreed to foster him for a few days to see if Momo (my senior male) accepts him. If so I will adopt the newcomer.

It’s been a while since I’ve interacted with a kitten and good lord he’s got a lot of energy. I adopted all my other cats as adults. Young adult cats have more than enough energy for me; this little guy is bonkers.

Das ist in etwa so, als würde man in der deutschen Politik eine Vereinbarung mit der AfD treffen, künftig nicht mehr von einem Verbotsverfahren zu sprechen, wenn die AfD verspricht etwa netter zu Minderheiten zu sein.

Das wäre natürlich absurd.
Und im Fall Gaza ist es noch absurder. Da geht's darum sich auf nette Zusagen zu verlassen, während in diesem Moment gerade Menschen sterben, erschossen werden oder verhungern - während der Gesprächspartner Konzentrationslager bauen möchte.

So far today, 55 people have been arrested for terrorism offences by the combined forces of the UK police. This possibly represents the most successful counter-terrorism action in the nation's history.

The reason for this success is both farcical and pathetic.

Finally came up with a solution. Sorta like Keanu Reeves’ solution in Speed, “shoot the hostage”. I destroyed the aerator. I looked it up and I can purchase replacements, so I cracked, broke, and chipped away until the aerator was gone. Now I get a single stream/jet of water, but at least I get water coming out. That will keep the women happy until I can get a new aerator.

Hey #Firefox hackers! My credit card issuer, Chase, does something funky where its page won't load unless it's in the focused tab:

secure.chase.com/web/auth/dash…

I want to get it to load in the background instead.

Any ideas? I tried turning off all the lazy-load-enabled settings in about:config but that didn't work.

I get the same results in Chrome and Firefox: if you open that URL in a background tab it waits for you to switch to it, so it looks like something Chase is doing on purpose.

When it does render, the url is updated to secure.chase.com/web/auth/dash…

Chase appears to use the "hash" part of the URL as commands. If you try to load that full URL with the hash part then it does seem to render in a background tab just fine in Chrome and Firefox.

I have an announcement to make. A few weeks back someone posted about how white people don't have dreams with blacks in them. Last night I had blacks in my dream.

I was at home and my mother whom I haven't seen in around 15 years was there and she invited a bunch of blacks over for some reason. They were looking around at my things and a black women tried to steal one of my 9mm magazines and I shot her in the head. 😀
