It's actually hard to evaluate. I think the right choice is normal but I am still testing it out. It's a JRPG in fashion but practically speaking almost EVERY meaningful hit is a one shot if you let it land without doing the parry and the dodge. Now I have NOTHING bad to say about the timings here, they are almost totally the polar opposite of the modern Elden Souls deceptive timings, they are nuanced, expertly animated, and fun to read.

But at the same time it's just ONE mechanic and because it's dressed like a JRPG if you get one-tapped turn one it's an almost Souls-like runback even if the autosave was just 30 feet down the hall from the fight you got raped in. It's good enough to deserve being tight as hell, but it's actually meaty enough.

I just realized that I’ve spent something like 30 years masking the autistic desire to engage in comfort media. I only read a book or watch a show once because I feel like I’m weird (in a bad way) for watching the same, honestly kinda mid tv show over and over. (There are exceptions, but I have pointless, self imposed rules like “only once a year”)

I just finished a show for the second time recently. I have spent today in a funk because I want something else that scratches that exact itch but nothing does exactly that.

Except something does. It’s the show I just watched. I don’t actually want to watch something else, I want to rewatch the thing because I’m not done with it.

And it’s okay to do that. It doesn’t make me weird. At least, not in a bad way. And all I’m accomplishing by denying myself rewatching it is feeling sad and bored, while watching it makes me feel excited and energized.

So I’m gonna rewatch this show for the third time. And I’ll be happy I did. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Didn't know that was an autistic desire tbh. I have been doing that since I was a single digit age and preferred to reread a 400+ page book instead of something thinner (it was the never ending story after all).

I think it's enjoyable for neurotypicals, too. And nobody should ever be shamed for rereading a good book or rewatching a good movie!

My count is 20+ for some of my favoutites.

I have certain shows and movies that I rewatch basically all of the time. I think I'm on my fourth round through deep space nine now. I've seen the movie the big Lebowski over 300 times. Comfort media is important for me for self regulation. I don't always need to see new things, and I always see new things when I rewatch my shows and movies. There is no downside in my book!

I look at it like this. Volodymyr Zelinsky « jeté sous le bus » ?

On sait depuis longtemps, c’est-à-dire depuis son indépendance au moment de la chute de l’URSS, que l’Ukraine est un des pays les plus corrompus du monde. Le régime ukrainien antérieur au coup d’état de Maïdan, qui connaissait l’alternance, était complètement vérolé. L’intervention américaine a évidemment aggravé le phénomène, les États-Unis faisant reposer leur occupation sur la corruption géante d’une bourgeoisie compradore. À tel point que même la presse occidentale avait fini par s’en émouvoir. Comme avec l’affaire des « Panama papers », où les preuves concernant les fortunes accumulées par Zelinsky abondaient.

L’intervention russe de février 2022 a donné à ce phénomène des proportions absolument vertigineuses. Personne n’est aujourd’hui capable de tracer le versement et l’utilisation des sommes folles (environ 290 milliards de dollars !) déversées par l’Occident après la décision imposée à Zelinsky de poursuivre la guerre pour le compte de l’OTAN. Après l’arrivée de Donald Trump au pouvoir, on nous avait raconté l’histoire de ces « contrôleurs » dépêchés à Kiev pour tenter de réaliser l’audit permettant d’y voir un peu plus clair. Initiative rapidement tombée aux oubliettes. Probablement parce que si l’essentiel de l’argent a été volé par le gang qui dirige ce malheureux pays, il est évident qu’aux États-Unis les rétro-commissions ont dû fonctionner à plein.

Ukraine : la corruption de haut en bas

Comme d’habitude, la corruption du sommet atteint les couches intermédiaires, et dans l’Ukraine en guerre tout est monnayable. En particulier dans l’armée où le corps des officiers est complètement gangrené. Vieille habitude américaine comme ce fut le cas au Vietnam, en Irak, en Afghanistan, et plus récemment en Syrie etc. Cela s’est manifesté, au-delà du système des passe-droits, notamment avec le trafic des fournitures, en particulier militaires. Et c’est ainsi que l’on a retrouvé d’énormes quantités d’armes entre les mains des gangs dans les Balkans, en Afrique et en Amérique centrale.

L’auteur de ces lignes avait été destinataire d’une information qu’il avait considérée comme particulièrement fiable (et qu'il considère toujours comme telle), selon laquelle deux canons Caesar français avaient été revendus aux Russes. Après qu’il l’ait répercutée, il a été l’objet d’une campagne de harcèlement sur les réseaux prenant sa source dans un article du Canard enchaîné, devenu organe néoconservateur fonctionnant à la commande. Et l’habituelle notice biographique Wikipédia, devenu organe d’expression des agences américaines. L’état-major français quant à lui se fendit rapidement d’un unique communiqué pour démentir l’information gênante. On sait aujourd’hui ce que vaut cette parole avec son chef surnommé désormais « le général menteur », après sa calamiteuse conférence de presse sur « la menace russe ». Tout ceci n’a pas beaucoup d’importance, si ce n’est, que cette information qui ne peut être prouvée pour l’instant, est en attendant parfaitement plausible…

Emprisonner les enquêteurs avant de les dissoudre

Histoire de faire passer la pilule auprès des peuples occidentaux et de justifier le déversement continu d’argent sur le gang de Kiev, les Américains ont mis en place des organismes « non gouvernementaux » chargés soi-disant de lutter contre la corruption et dirigés directement par eux. L’Union Européenne a emboîté le pas, faisant de cette lutte un des critères de l’adhésion de l’Ukraine à l’UE.

Pendant sa campagne électorale Donald Trump s’était engagé à mettre fin au conflit en Ukraine quasi instantanément. Le problème était que, sauf capitulation inconditionnelle, pour faire la paix, en général il faut être deux. Et que sa présentation du conflit était doublement fausse. Premièrement il s’agissait d’après lui d’une guerre meurtrière opposant deux enfants têtus, l’Ukraine et la Russie, se chamaillant dans un bac à sable. Et son prédécesseur Biden aurait commis l’erreur de prendre parti pour l’un d’entre eux, à savoir l’Ukraine. Lui, il allait faire l’arbitre, les obliger à se parler et régler ainsi prestement le problème. Deuxièmement il ne prenait absolument pas en compte que cette guerre opposait en fait la Russie aux États-Unis, à l’OTAN et au reste du monde occidental. Et qu’elle avait commencé au moins en 2014 et s’était poursuivie sous son premier mandat.

« Cher Potus, vous êtes dans la mélasse jusqu’au cou, car toute solution de ce conflit actera la défaite de l’Occident qui sera d’abord la vôtre. » Aussi entre rodomontades, contradictions, et déclarations intempestives Donald Trump semble avoir choisi d’emprunter la voie d’une mise hors d’état de nuire brutale pour le saltimbanque corrompu de Kiev. En tout cas, la presse système américaine a été mandatée pour la préparer. Qui multiplie les articles le présentant enfin comme le dictateur féroce qu’il n’a jamais cessé d’être, et comme le principal pilier de la corruption en Ukraine qu’il a toujours été. Parfois à base d’interviews de l'ancien député ukrainien Artem Dmytruk, qui a fui l'Ukraine à la fin de l'année dernière après avoir affronté Zelensky pour sa persécution religieuse contre l’Église orthodoxe ukrainienne, et qui affirme : « Il vole 10 milliards de dollars par an » !

Il semble que Zelinsky ait parfaitement reçu le message et se soit empressé de prendre les devants avec les types de mesures qu’il affectionne même si elles lui sont souvent dictées par la garde néonazie qui l’entoure et qui verrouille son appareil d’État. Un des patrons du NABU (National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine) qui comme son nom l’indique est chargé théoriquement de combattre la corruption, Ruslan Mahamedrasulov a été immédiatement arrêté. Motif, comme d’habitude « connexion avec la Russie ». Mahamedrasulov s’en tire bien (pour l’instant), normalement le tarif de la garde nazie de Zelinsky pour qui leur déplaît, c’est une balle dans la tête comme en a fait l’expérience Kiriev le négociateur des accords d’Istanbul. Mais l’autocrate de Kiev ne s’est pas arrêté en si bon chemin puisqu’il a immédiatement déposé et fait adopter un projet de loi qui supprimait le parquet spécialisé anti-corruption (SAPO) et le NABU. Pourquoi se gêner ?

Quelle espérance de vie pour Zelinsky ?

Une fois de plus bafouée, l’UE est comme d’habitude ridicule. Entre bavardages et rodomontades, sans prise sur la réalité, les pitres de la « coalition des volontaires », que plus personne n’écoute dans le monde, vont continuer à tourner comme des derviches. Avec le cas particulier de l’Allemagne sous la direction inquiétante de son nouveau Führer qui multiplie les provocations anti-russes au risque de voir son pays transformé en parking par les moujiks qui ont de la mémoire.

Exténuée, et probablement également téléguidée, la malheureuse population ukrainienne s’est enfin décidée à affronter la dictature et manifeste sa volonté de mettre fin à son cauchemar.

Il est donc possible que, Zelinsky soit « jeté sous le bus » comme disent les Américains. Leur presse spécule déjà sur le nom de celui qui aurait les faveurs de l’Amérique pour permettre à Donald Trump de faire comme d’habitude, et comme il l’a fait récemment en mer Rouge. Déclarer la victoire et foutre le camp. On verra bien, rien de tout cela n’est encore écrit. Mais s’il y a une chose qui est sûre, c’est que la Russie restera sur sa ligne et maintiendra les propositions formulées est toujours renouvelé de Vladimir Poutine en juin 2024. C’est-à-dire que soient traitées, au travers de la mise en place d’une solution de sécurité collective durable, les causes, toutes les causes, qui ont amené à ce conflit.

Une autre chose est celle-ci probable. S’il est débarqué, Volodymir Zelinsky ne devrait pas faire de vieux os. Il a trop d’ennemis en Ukraine, en Russie, mais surtout aux États-Unis car il a beaucoup volé et il en sait beaucoup trop. Même en Israël, où il pourrait être tenté de rejoindre ses parents à qui il a offert une somptueuse résidence, son espérance de vie serait assez limitée.

So this morning my buddy went to get his nerve ablation procedure again. Random new doctor at the place tells him he's "too heavy for the table". Same office, same table, same weight, where he's already had this done half a dozen goddamn times.

So instead of the pain relief he's been looking forward to for a while-- this appointment was scheduled some time ago-- he gets basically insulted and jerked around, and now has to go looking for a whole new pain management doctor and who knows how long it will be to schedule a new appointment.

This after the dude was more than half an hour late to start the appointment to begin with, and my buddy works graveyard so all this and the scheduling etc has to happen during the hours when he should be sleeping. Fucked with his prescriptions, too.

The amount of shit he gets for his weight, from the people who are supposed to be HELPING.
