It’s very revealing how casually liberals spit out populist as an insult. The derogatory use of the word unmasks their real conviction that majority rule is only admirable when the majority thinks like them. Twice in the past week, I’ve received an edit notification about a post I’d previously boosted where the edit corrected bad or incomplete information. In both cases, I boosted the correction.
I’ve long wished for social media misinformation policy to be “If you saw the bad info, you see the correction.” Mastodon comes closer to that than anything I’ve previously encountered.
There’s been a lot of theoretical hand-wringing about allowing edits on social media. In practice, this aspect at least seems like a huge success.
Of course this success only happens if the OP actually edits their post. The fact that people are willing to send out a public “I was wrong!” notification via an edit to correct says really good things about those people, and about this community.
Don’t miss that. This isn’t just a technology feature; it’s a social feature. Logic, user interface, individual behavior, and social norms are all deeply intertwined as one big system. We tech folks forget that too easily and too often.
I'm not a fan of edits. If I boost something I do it for what it is. I don't want more notifications and don't want to have to check that I still agree with what I boosted. It's only a toot. If it's so wrong just delete and redo.
The number of times I've seen a post in a "someone boosted your post" notification and then noticed the bad grammar or typo as soon as I reread it and felt compelled to edit it is a lot higher than I like.

Also, I think most of the potential problems of being able to edit are alleviated by the absence of an algorithm; if popularity of a post equals reach & feeds back on the poster, you can game that system by posting something popular, get likes/shares & then change it to something else & having that popularity/reach at least partially transferred to an unrelated topic.

Blaze Alter is cute but tough to click on over Lappy Alter or Logos. S2 needs you to tard wrangle this dumb cat to not hit the targets right when they leave the square as the embers that slow and hurt are vital to make the skill competitive. S3 is a bit like Shibe when a woman says hello in that it discharges in about half a second so you need to time it right before burn is applied and then you get a perfect SSR boss nuke combo almost as good as Virtuosa and Nymph or W Alter solo. S1 is decent but have you ever wanted a smouldering AOE AFK skill and not just clicked Ascalon?

I have run Nymph against Phys/Mag damage reduction IS bosses with both Logos and Virtuosa and she really does deep fry with it on her S3. That combo is not nothing and Gluttony is hardly worth it but I bet Blaze Alter would evaporate if you gave her a similar burn setup with Viviana or the chef.
