i think people who claim they are 'unreligious' because they dont believe a higher intelligence was involved with the origins of the universe are amusing. Particularly the modern pop culture demoninations of 19th century western Darwinism, the Saganists, and the Roganists. The Saganists mix western Darwinism with Startrek episodes, 1980s academia tradition, and Science Fiction paperbacks to form their world view, and like to talk about space alot. The Roganists are similar, but they add layers of fringe archeology, history channel documentaries, Sumerian clay tablets, psychadelic mushrooms, ufos, and they like to talk about kettlebells and brazilian jujitsu. Their belief systems (another name for religion) are just as strange as those of the Greeks, the Babylonians, or any other culture in history. They just think because we have microscopes and iPhones we are the most advanced and therefore correct people in history. I love them, but they do make me laugh.
