Just had an amazing shrimp molting session in my tank today! 🦐✨ It's so satisfying to see their little exoskeletons left behind—proof they're growing strong under optimal conditions. The pH has been steady at 7.0, and I added some crushed coral for extra calcium.

Also, currently vibing with a playlist of classic Chinese revolutionary songs while tending to the tank—nothing like "The East Is Red" to set the mood for shrimp prosperity and socialist harmony! 🇨🇳❤️

Anyone else obsessed with tracking their shrimp's molting cycles? Let's share tips!

Of the four triggers that #ChatGPT says might cause the #AIBubble to collapse more quickly, "a key LLM vendor fails" seems by far the most plausible to me, but I guess we will see.

In terms of the aftermath, I think it is 100% correct about the consolidation. No one will make money on #LLMs until the majority of the competition is gone and the remaining companies have the near-monopoly they need to jack up prices and #enshittify their products.

It's deeply #undemocratic. Badly written. And it COMPLETELY lifts the Executive Council of #Australian Jewry's ridiculous demands. Watch me explain how. Throw this entire piece of shit in the bin. The report too lol. --- thank you #tomtanuki via @tomtanuki

"Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford, said on Friday that the Chinese EV industry posed a serious threat to the American automaker.

Farley was speaking to the author Walter Isaacson during a panel at the Aspen Ideas Festival when he was asked about China's EV market. Farley said he'd made about six or seven trips to China in the past year.

"It's the most humbling thing I have ever seen. Seventy percent of all EVs in the world, electric vehicles, are made in China," Farley said.

"They have far superior in-vehicle technology. Huawei and Xiaomi are in every car," Farley added. "You get in, you don't have to pair your phone. Automatically, your whole digital life is mirrored in the car."

Farley told Isaacson that part of the reason Ford couldn't offer something similar was because tech giants such as Google and Apple "decided not to go in the car business."

"Beyond that, their cost, their quality of their vehicles is far superior to what I see in the West," Farley said."

There's this wild thing where Trump has done all this patently unconstitutional shit (like "rescinding" funds duly allocated by Congress, e.g. violating his oath and Articles I and II of the Constitution) but the media is now reporting all of it like "lol yolo this is the law now folks" and

The incompetency tsunami we're living inside of right now is just so exhausting.

2025 Website Maintenance Costs – Your Guide to a Secure, High-Performing Site

A website is only as good as its maintenance. Neglecting it risks hacks, slow performance, or costly repairs.

You've launched a website—perhaps for your business, a creative project, or an online store. It's live, it looks great, and it's driving results. But the work doesn't stop there. Websites need regular upkeep to stay secure, fast, and reliable.

In 2025, maintenance costs go beyond basic hosting. They cover cybersecurity, updates, and performance tweaks to keep your site competitive. Here's what you need to know about budgeting for maintenance and why it's essential.

Why Maintenance Is a Must in 2025

A website isn't a one-time build. It's a dynamic system that needs constant care to keep up with the evolving internet. Without it, you risk:

  • Hacks exploiting outdated software.
  • Slow load times that hurt user experience and SEO.
  • Broken features like contact forms or payment systems.
  • Downtime that drives away customers.

Fixing problems after they arise often costs more than preventing them. A reliable Singapore web designer will emphasize maintenance from the outset. If they don't mention it, ask for a clear plan.

What Does Maintenance Include?

Maintenance is a suite of services to keep your site running smoothly. Here's what a comprehensive 2025 plan should cover:

Security Monitoring & Protection

Cyber threats target all websites, big or small. Automated bots scan for vulnerabilities like outdated plugins or weak passwords, leading to spam, data loss, or blacklisting by search engines. Maintenance should include:

  • Daily malware scans.
  • Firewall setup and monitoring.
  • Secure login systems.
  • Prompt security patches.

Robust Backups

Backups are your safety net for crashes or hacks. They should be:

  • Taken daily (or more often for dynamic sites).
  • Stored off-site for redundancy.
  • Quick to restore to minimize downtime.

Without reliable backups, a single failure could erase your site.

Software & Plugin Updates

Platforms like WordPress, Shopify, or Drupal rely on updates for core files, themes, and plugins to fix bugs and security issues. Updates can cause compatibility problems, so a website designer should test them on a staging site before going live.

Uptime Monitoring

A downed site means lost revenue and trust. Uptime monitoring tools check your site every minute, alerting you instantly if it goes offline. This is critical for business-critical sites.

Performance Optimization

Over time, websites slow down due to added content, plugins, or unoptimized code. Slow sites lose visitors and search rankings. Maintenance should include:

  • Regular speed tests.
  • Image and database optimization.
  • Cleanup of unused code.

Support for Quick Fixes

Small issues—like broken links or outdated content—are inevitable. A good maintenance plan includes a few hours of monthly support to handle these without extra charges.

Budgeting for Maintenance in 2025

Costs vary based on your site's needs. Here's a breakdown for Singapore in 2025:

Small Sites (e.g., portfolios, small business pages)

SGD 50–350/month, covering:

  • Weekly plugin/theme updates.
  • Daily backups.
  • Basic security measures.
  • Limited support hours.

E-commerce or High-Traffic Sites

SGD 300–1,500/month, including:

  • Enhanced security for user data or payments.
  • Frequent monitoring and updates.
  • Minimal downtime guarantees.

Custom or Enterprise Sites

SGD 1,000–6,000+/month, with:

  • Advanced security and server management.
  • 24/7 support.
  • Performance tuning.

Some Singapore web designers offer fixed plans, while others charge per task. Always request a detailed breakdown of services.

What's Not Covered?

Maintenance plans typically exclude:

  • Hosting or domain renewals.
  • Major redesigns or new features.
  • SEO or content marketing.
  • Premium plugin or software licenses.
  • Emergency fixes outside a plan.

Ask your website designer to clarify these to avoid unexpected costs.

Can You Maintain It Yourself?

If you're tech-savvy, you can handle tasks like updates, backups, or monitoring. But it's time-consuming, and mistakes can lead to security risks or downtime. For most, hiring a professional is more efficient and safer.

Final Takeaway

A website is only as good as its maintenance. Neglecting it risks hacks, slow performance, or costly repairs. Budget for maintenance from the start, whether you're launching a new site or managing an existing one. When choosing a website designer in Singapore, prioritize those with transparent maintenance plans. A well-maintained site isn't just functional—it's a competitive edge.

People are perfectly content not being "an expert" on most things. "I'm not an engineer, architect, doctor, etc" No problem at all.

But when it comes to reality, which is the last page of history, you get a subconscious revulsion to "not being an expert".

Its a neat trap, but if you are not at least fluent in history, you have no clue what world you are living in and what stupid fucking ideals you have absorbed to explain it.

@radix023 eh, I think it is chalked up to a lack of curiosity and a complacent mind set that needs to be defended by ignorance, plus laziness, plenty of "experts" out there that can feed the dull mind a narrative.

If peoples exhibited this trait through out history, we would still be chasing lightening for fire.

3 years ago i cut "crappy" suger to near zero, im not talkin fruit and bread, just all the darn snacks and drinks. Like everything they sell at gas stations. Now my worst snack is the occasional potato chips and my only sugar item nowadays is homemade jelly which i consider a treat. Every day i drink black coffee, water and raw milk, occasional apple and grape juice, but those are homemade and canned, pure juice, no additives. In fall thru spring i drink homemade herbal tea at night with a dab of honey.
I used to drink monster in the am then mtn dew with lunch, another monster mid afternoon and soda with dinner. Lots of sugary snacks every day. All that while still being not fat at all.
I was not a bit overweight when i made this decision and i lost 10 lbs in 2 months. It was eye opening. It took 3 months to get over the cravings, now im not the least bit interested.
Keep it up.

Ive been hitting the supplement stack hard again. Including this new Liver Detox/Cleanse.

I will also be adding Sulforaphane supplementation to the stack. You can see my supplement stack on the pinned post on my profile, if interested.

I brought a ribeye and twice baked home and couldnt eat by 1/3rd of the potato and 1/2 the steak.

My intermittent fasting has shrunk my stomach.

I have virtually no hunger pangs either. It's very easy to maintain this. I do it 4 or 5 days a week and then eat as and how I want on my weekend. I try not to get crazy on the weekend, but Im not strict like on intermittent fasting days.

Ive been losing some more weight and my fatty liver is clearly visible as it pokes out farther on that side of my belly. But Im gonna fix this fatty liver and get back into top shape.
