what's interesting is that there's a test case for this. That's exactly what Mamdani did -- ask people -- and guess what, turnout jumped significantly. Funny how that works!
That being said I think it's good news on the whole (although agree with you that it's not by itself good news for Democrats). I've seen quite a few scholars of authoritarianism and fascism point out that an autocratic government that only has support of 30-40% of people is a lot more constrained than an autocratic government with 60--70% support.
As for the Dems ... well I was just looking at a WSJ poll that shows the Democrat party has a net -30% favorability. That's certainly not good news for them! But again societally it might be good news if it increases the likelihood of significant change within the Dem party or of alternatives taking a bigger role.
If Democrats abandon identity politics they lose at least 30 percent of their base. They might hold on to some of that if they were still "the party of unions" and had policies that support working class people.
I don't see how they could gain votes from the right by just being a less extreme version of what the republicans are doing.

Our two-headed party has so gerrymandered the maps and rigged the system so that the majority of eligible citizens won't vote, and elections are decided by 1% of the eligible voters.
We haven't expanded the SCOTUS since 1870, and now it hears less than 5% of the pleas sent to it, and this term can't even be bothered to write down bullshit rationalizations justifying their blatantly partisan diktats. Too much power, concentrated in too few judges - no wonder they are corrupt.
We haven't grown the House / EC to match population since 1912, more or less. Again - too much power in too few politicians means corruption.
I'm not saying that if we expanded SCOTUS (to 27) and expanded the House/EC (to 1500) that corruption would disappear and people might vote. I'm saying X Y and Z are broken, and the Constitution anticipated these problems and gave us the tools to fix them. JUST FIX THE THINGS.
There are 250 Billion dollars worth of laptops that are not "capable" of running Windows 11, and Windows 10 is NO LONGER getting virus, zero day, hacking fixes.

Because linux runs on almost anything, much faster than Windows, and its a friend, not a spy, or handcuffs.
Maybe the reason you want to put Linux on your perfectly fine Windows 10 is because they are injecting AI into your operating system if you upgrade. Or even if you don't. And don't ask.

To zależy tylko od tego, kogo chcesz komunikować. W przypadku polskiego używam tłumacza (Linguist ¹), a mój język ojczysty jest hiszpańskim, ale mogę również płynnie komunikować się w języku niemieckim i angielskim.
