Εκδήλωση-Συζήτηση για την κλιμάκωση του πολέμου κατά της μετανάστευσης σε διαφορετικά επίπεδα: σύνορα, καμπς-φυλακές, κοινωνία. Οργάνωση της αντίστασης ντόπιων και μεταναστ(ρι)ών.

Τον περασμένο μήνα η κυβέρνηση νομοθέτησε την 3μηνη κατάργηση του δικαιώματος στο άσυλο για ανθρώπους που μεταναστεύουν και φτάνουν με βάρκες στη νότια Κρήτη. Ως δικαιολογία χρησιμοποίησαν την ανάγκη αντιμετώπισης μιας υποτιθέμενης “κατάστασης εκτάκτου ανάγκης” και μιας δήθεν “εθνικής απειλής” λόγω των ελαφρώς αυξημένων αφίξεων προσφύγων στην Κρήτη, περίπου 2-3.000 σε 3 ημέρες. Αυτά τα κρατικά αφηγήματα, που υποστηρίζονται από τα μεγάλα ΜΜΕ και τους φασίστες, εξυπηρετούν έναν πολιτικό στόχο. Η κατασκευασμένη εικόνα των μεταναστών ως «στρατιωτικής απειλής» είναι ζωτικής σημασίας για τον στόχο της στρατιωτικοποίησης της κοινωνίας, τον οποίο επιδιώκουν τα κράτη.
Η στρατιωτικοποίηση συμβάλλει στα κέρδη του κεφαλαίου δρώντας παράλληλα με την υπερ-εκμετάλλευση όσων ζουν σε προσφυγικά καμπς: αμισθί εργασία, φυλάκιση, διαχωρισμός και μετακινήσεις-εκδιώξεις, όλα όσα ήδη βιώνουν καθημερινά και για τα οποία υπάρχει μια ξεκάθαρη κλιμάκωση ταυτόχρονα με τη στοχοποίηση οποιασδήποτε ορατής αντίστασης τους.
Πριν λίγες μέρες το νομοσχέδιο για την “αναμόρφωση των απελάσεων” (και πολλά άλλα) δημοσιεύτηκε και δεν είναι παρά το δεύτερο μέρος του σχεδίου ποινικοποίησης της μετανάστευσης. Μετά την ποινικοποίηση της εισόδου, ο φασίστας Πλεύρης μετατρέπει σε ποινικό αδίκημα το να μην έχεις χαρτιά. Χωρίς περιστροφές αναφέρεται ότι ο στόχος του νομοσχεδίου είναι ο εξαναγκασμός μέσω της άδικης φυλάκισης και βαριών προστίμων, δηλαδή μέσω μιας μορφής βασανισμού, οι μετανάστ(ρι)ες να υπογράφουν την απέλασή τους. Είναι σαφές ότι αυτό διαχωρίζει ακόμη περισσότερο τους πιο αδύναμους, με βάση τα πρότυπα της καπιταλιστικής, πατριαρχικής και αποικιακής “ανάπτυξης”.
Παρότι οι πολιτικές εξαίρεσης εφαρμόζονται από καιρό και ο ρατσισμός είναι ιστορικά ένα όπλο στα χέρια των αφεντικών, οι πρόσφατες εξελίξεις πρέπει να μας κινητοποιήσουν γιατί αποτελούν μια σαφή κλιμάκωση των ρατσιστικών, δολοφονικών πολιτικών του ελληνικού κράτους, που εφαρμόζονται επίσης και από αυταρχικά, αλλά και από δήθεν “δημοκρατικά” καθεστώτα και την ΕΕ. Πρέπει να αντιμετωπίσουμε όλα αυτά ως επιθέσεις και να οργανώσουμε την αντίστασή μας, τις συμμαχίες και τις δράσεις μας. Να δημιουργήσουμε έναν ισχυρό συντονισμό, που να μπορεί να αντισταθεί στη βία της επόμενης περιόδου.
Για το σκοπό αυτό ως συντονισμός των συλλογικοτήτων ‘Ανοιχτή συνέλευση ενάντια στα pushbacks και τη συνοριακή βία’, ‘Solidarity with migrants’, ‘Mataris Sudan Solidarity Committee’ και ‘Συνέλευση ενάντια στα κέντρα κράτησης’, διοργανώνουμε εκδήλωση-συζήτηση την Κυριακή 27 Ιουλίου στις 19.00 στο Κηπάκι της Τσαμαδού στα Εξάρχεια.

Last month, the Greek government legislated a three-month suspension of the right to asylum for migrants who arrive by boats in southern Crete. This was based on far-fetched allegations of an “emergency situation” due to the slightly increased arrivals of refugees in Crete, a couple of thousands in 3 days. These state narratives, supported by the big media and fascists, follow a political aim. The fabrication of migrants as a “military threat” is crucial to the goal of militarization of society, that this and other nation states are pursuing.
This militarization serves the interests of capital, operating in parallel with the high-level exploitation of people who live in refugee camps, such as unpaid work, de-facto imprisonment, segregation and involuntary transfers or evictions, that they already experience on a daily basis. There is a clearly visible escalation in this aspect with now almost daily transfers, a decrease in labor rights and the very direct targeting of any visible resistance.
The bill on “reform of deportations” (and other aggressive racist measures) was published, and is about to be voted, another big step in the same direction, which is the total criminalization of migration. After criminalizing entry, the fascist Plevris is now making it a criminal offense to be undocumented. It is stated in clear, unmistakable words, that the aim of the bill is to coerce migrants into signing their deportation orders through unjust imprisonment and heavy fines, i.e. through a form of torture. It is clear, that this is separating those at the bottom even more – along the lines of capitalist, patriarchal and colonial development.
Exclusionary policies are nothing new and racism has historically been a weapon in the hands of the bosses. Yet, recent developments should mobilise us because they constitute an obvious escalation of the Greek state’s racist and murderous policies, that are also happening elsewhere by authoritarian regimes as well as corrupted, supposedly “democratic” governments and the EU. These developments are clearly attacks and we have to organize our resistances, alliances and actions. We have to create a powerful coordination, that can stand up against the violence of the next period.
As coordination of the collectives ‘Open Assembly against Pushbacks and Border Violence’, ‘Solidarity with Migrants’, ‘Mataris Sudan Solidarity Committee’ and ‘Assembly against Detention Centres’, we are organizing a discussion on Sunday, July 27th, at 7 p.m. at the garden (Kipaki) of Tsamadou at Exarchia.

The number of Palestinians starved to death in Gaza due to the Israeli-imposed blockade on aid has risen to 122, according to the enclave’s health ministry.
Hospitals in Gaza have recorded nine new deaths due to famine and malnutrition over the past 24 hours, the ministry said in a statement on Telegram. The number of those who have died includes 83 children.

in reply to Katherine Bond • • •Metals are highly recyclable. The mineral slag from the melted pot is used as aggregate on roofing shingles among many other things. The oily shavings from the copper wire drawing process is exactly what's in the bottle of copper anti seize compound.
And there's what we do with food waste... I helped research and get a few patents on recovering what to do with what's left of the beer brewing process. It's now a fat free, high fiber barely bran (that is also absolutely tasteless, but that's what other highly processed ingredients do to sweeten it up and make it unhealthy....) Waste in the recycling process is often sold at high prices.

And yup... requirements, inducements, sense of helping, all impact ... many.
I watch the 'game' change, both in FL and NY, what gets sorted how, in bins or bags or collections, etc. In FL, the county waste management (Sarasota County) went from separate plastics/bottles vs. paper bins, to just one "recyclables".
A sanitation worker told me it 'all goes to the same place'. (Alligator Alcatraz?)
In NYC, as Jodi said, it's required, at least by buildings. We don't have many separated bins on the streets, as some cities/countries do, for recycling. And though I'm a 'patriot' and 'environment-friendly' (IMM), looking at what we've done and continue to do is disheartening and makes my effort seem meaningless. 🙁
