Really wish I knew how these Shark HEPA filters worked. The thing has an "auto" setting that measures the quality of the air (0-100) and when it drops it speeds up automatically to filter more volume of air automatically.
And it usually works. Quite well sometimes.
When I'm cooking, especially if I'm frying something, the thing kicks into overdrive to clean the air.
But more often than not I'm sitting here and I can sense the air quality drop and the HEPA filter is still showing everything is OK so I manually have to go and crank the sucker up to overdrive just to clean the air.

Today in Labor History July 29, 1900: Italian anarchist Gaetano Bresci assassinated King Umberto of Italy. He did it to avenge the scores of workers the army killed during the Milan insurrection of 1898, also known as the Bava Beccaris massacre. The authorities arrested Bresci. He was later found strangled in his cell at Santo Stefano Prison, on May 22, 1901. Anarchists regarded him as a martyr. His act of regicide inspired Leon Czolgosz to assassinate President McKinley.
Bresci was radicalized and drawn to anarchism from a young age. He began working in a textile mill, in Italy, at the age of 15. In his early 20’s, he was arrested for insulting a police officer and later served time for organizing a textile strike. In 1897, he emigrated to the U.S., getting a job at a silk mill in Patterson, New Jersey. There he married an Irish-American woman and had two children. He joined the Right to Existence Group, and co-founded and wrote for its newspaper, La Questione Sociale. He saved Errico Malatesta’s life by disarming an assassin who had shot Malatesta at one of the group’s meetings.

@hetzner Hey folks, having a bit of trouble reaching my server. The Hetzner control panel for it is stuck trying to set a new root password and everything is disabled so I can’t even shut the server down.
Opened a ticket yesterday but haven’t heard back yet. (Ticket #: 2025072803032261)
@jsonstein Ah, shit happens (and Kitten is pre-release software so the original issue was related to an issue in Kitten). I would like to get my server up and running again though 😀

I believe the issue arose due to attempting a root password change on a highly congested VM (memory and CPU) due to a restart cycle of my Node.js process that was out of memory. (In case it helps diagnose the cause of the hang in your end.)
PS. If your engineers actually log in to the server (they may, if they like, there is nothing but public data on it), please tell them they’re more than welcome to rename the systemd unit (kitten.service) so it doesn’t keep restarting.
I’ve issued a fix to Kitten that should mean the core issue doesn’t occur again on my end.
Worst case scenario, it’s not a problem for me to recreate the server but I’d like at least to be able to stop and delete this one.
