I'm setting up a computer with linux mint debian editon, and the computer is going to be used by a lot of people who sign in via AD. I have custom display settings (background, pinned applications, theme, custom menu icon) that I would like to apply to all users, but right now they only show up when I log into the account that I set it up on.
Also, is there a way to get a custom firefox esr config to apply to all users as well? I want to remove pocket and make duckduckgo the default browser.
Side-note: Mozilla is shutting down Pocket, so you might not need to adjust that config. I'm not sure, how they handle disabling it in browsers, but given that the backend has already been turned off, presumably they would disable it even on ESR with some update...

@niavy @thhareau Oui, c'est ce que j'avais ajouté : les Fairphone me font de l'œil, mais c'est vraiment trop cher (et c'est pour un téléphone d'appoint pour la famille, l'école...). Côté Fossify, je garde SMS, j'aime vraiment bien le gestionnaire de fichiers, l'horloge, je l'ai désinstallée ce matin (2ème fois que l'alarme du réveil ne sonne pas et me met dans une situation pourrie cote pro), agenda m'a mis un super bazar dans mes plannings (sur Nextcloud, et là je teste aCalendar) 1/2

J'ai garde galerie, pas super convaincu, mais ça fait le job (j'aimerais vie' une synchro, ça, ça manque), gardé l'appareil photo mais il bug, et pour le clavier, j'ai pas testé, je teste HeliBoard, avec lequel je rame un peu depuis dimanche. 2/2
@niavy @thhareau @lakorin Oui, c'était ça je crois. Il me semble qu'à un moment ils ont tenté de se positionner sur eBay (gaffe : je suis un vieux, je parle des années 2005 je pense, voire avant...). Nous on ne faisait que eBay, zn vente pour les clients ou un peu (rarement) en achat vente.
une possibilité pour l'impact environmental et que ce soit pas très cher, pourrait être de regarder du coté de l'occasion, vu qu'il y a des gens qui changent après seulement un an ou deux, y'a moyen de d'avoir quelque chose de décent (s'il a pas été maltraité, ce qui est le risque).
Après, y'a de bonnes chances que ce soit du samsung ou apple dans la plupart des offres.
Et l'avantages des modèles moins récents, ils ont plus de chances d'être supporté par postmarketos.
@niavy @thhareau Pour l'agenda, il y en a plein. Et vraiment celle de Samsung est top. Juste ils mettent de l'IA partout maintenant et ça me soule un peu sur la confidentialité. Pour l'agenda Fossify, il a basculé une bonne partie de mes événements en "public" et avec un statut "à confirmer", il a fallu que je prenne plein' de temps pour tout reprendre.
@niavy @thhareau J'ai pas testé. Il n'a pas d'accès à la messagerie visuelle (si c'est comme ça qu'on dit). J'utilise l'appli orange, y compris avec mon abonnement Bouygues, et j'aime beaucoup la fonction de filtre et de blocage basée sur la réputation créée par les utilisateurs. Ça marche bien.
@niavy OK OK... Je vais aller voir Yet Another... Oui, orange ont limité, mais on voit encore le pourcentage de classement en démarchage ou pas, et on peu bloquer facilement. J'aime aussi la fonction "ne pas déranger" qui envoi direct sur la messagerie comme si on n'avait pas de réseau, très pratique quand on est allergique eu téléphone mais qu'on es obligé pour le boulot.

A lawmaker was doused in gasoline and set on fire inside his office Wednesday in what authorities say was a personal attack.
Danville City Councilman J. Lee Vogler, 38, was at work at Showcase Magazine around 11:30 a.m. when a man entered the building, confronted him, and poured a flammable liquid over him, police said.
The suspect burst in carrying a 'five gallon container' full of gas which he dumped on top of the politician, his boss and the magazine's owner Andrews Brooks said.
Vogler attempted to flee but was chased to the front of the building, where the suspect ignited the liquid and set him ablaze, Brooks added.
Vogler was airlifted to Central Lynchburg General Hospital and was described as 'awake and talking' by Brooks, although police did not provide details on the nature of his injuries.
