You begin the game at 100 HP and finish at 1000 HP and I would not call the final boss gauntlet particularly easy, not Inti hard, but at 1000 HP it still took me a couple of tries. You can find equips that can add a couple hundred HP but still, to go down to a tenth of your health bar is asking an awful lot, especially in this already janky game.
Also lol at the patched Charon side quest just being finding a letter at base and taking it to one specific Charon for an equip that's probably vital for that mode because it gives 300 HP and 80 ATK at the cost of disabling crits. They have voices for this stuff but I do not understand why they bother.
The arena sidequest where you fight two or three bosses from Galgunvania 1 but they are tuned so hard you can only do scratch damage unless you use maximally crafted subweapons and have consumables to keep refilling them is probably emblematic of the sort of thinking that decides "An instadeath mode? What a FANTASTIC idea"
After a couple weeks now of trying to suss out what's going on, I'm still having troubles on my #Hubzilla instance with federating with certain major #Mastodon instances. I've done a lot of testing and a lot of fussing with things, and have concluded that there must just be something weird between running Hubzilla behind Cloudflare, and certain privacy or security settings enabled by some Mastodon admins, and there's nothing that I can do about it unless I want to learn and do a whole lot more coding than I'm capable of right now.
Unless someone has an idea of what these settings may be, or what I can do about it, I just wanted to give everyone the heads-up that I may need to move back to Friendica, and advise everyone on #WotW do the same. Apologies for the whiplash, and hopefully it doesn't come to that, as I really like a lot of Hubzilla features, but I personally see the inability to fully federate with many instances to be a deal-breaker.

On the practical side, the dolls not having limbs is pretty genius as they are much lighter, easier to handle and they are more resistant as the legs and arms break the easiest. It's also cheaper and easier to put away.
@Justicar the limbs only get in the way since the doll can't hug or do anything with them. It's better that they are removed, but having the detachable limbs would be better for photography.

@lord_nougat So a few years ago I really struggled to export data out of PowerShell into CSV. Nothing really more than a skill issue, but just never learned how to do anything terribly complex with it and hated it...... then along comes AI guy. Wanted everything in CSV. You shoot the shit? CSV. time sheets? CSV. An active directory report with 20,00 users? CSV. Still fought against learning it because I figured I'd use it to break him from not knowing how to manipulate data..... until he'd just take my data, shove it into chatgpt, it'd hallucinate values, then I'd get blamed for it.
Now I can wipe my ass with csv files and I don't even feel the burn any more.

I literally had someone come to me and say "Hey, I usually get this in a spreadsheet, can you make it look like the spreadsheet?". And to satisfy their request I was literally told to copy and paste black bar pngs into it because it didn't look like their CSV without it

Yes, it's your responsibility what your children do on the Internet. I don't buy this counterargument that your children will always be more tech savvy than you. Just look at Gen Alpha and how most of them can't even navigate a file system. Do you really think they can bypass firewalls if they can't understand how directories work?
You may think that children will find a way, but there are plenty of tutorials online on how to keep up with the latest security trends. Also, your kids won't be able to hack whatever security you have if you block the sites that give tutorials on bypassing such security measures.
If you are truly paranoid about what your kids do on the Internet or on the computer in general, either don't let them use a computer or electronic devices at all or set up their devices for them. There are custom USB-bootable Linux distros out there with parental controls in mind. You can even buy them from some websites so you don't need to know how to make bootable drives yourself. They only allow kids to use whitelisted sites and programs. Don't give your kids accounts on your computers and then they will have no choice but to use those flash drives. Whitelisting (i.e blacklisting everything except for a few approved sites) is the only guaranteed way to keep your kids safe online (outside prohibiting them from using the Internet at all, of course).

@anemone @feld You can deal with VPNs easily. 99% of them run on UDP and almost nothing runs on UDP besides DNS, NTP and BitTorrent. DNS and NTP aren't encrypted, so they could easily QoS encrypted UDP traffic into being unusable.
You can run VPNs over TCP, but then you are running TCP on TCP which creates problems with retransmission getting stupid.
The issue isn't technical, it's political. There are too many "legitimate" uses of VPN (and more generally, encrypted UDP) that trying to ban it is going to make a bunch of problems you didn't expect.
@cjd @anemone @phnt @feld in 20 years your internet router will sign a private UDP stream from your device to your identity. I don't see any technical reason in the next two decades that they can't implement this and completely even lock down VPNs.

This is more like trying to get the US to switch to the Metric system, it seems easy enough on it's face, but when you try there are a billion problems that all emerge and conspire to fuck you over. The internet is REALLY complex, even China doesn't manage to ban VPNs and they're quite motivated and their political system is pretty simple, in the west this is just flat out impossible.
@cjd @anemone @feld China already dealt with this (mostly). Just block the ones that don't have an agreement with you as the government. John Doe can still connect to a VPN when he doesn't trust the cofeshop WiFi and the state still gets the data. And with corporate VPNs which do certainly have a use case, those are usually based around a cert, so either hand the cert to the government or involve them in some other way.
In another thread about UK/VPNs and others I've said this: If they go full China and build a nationwide firewall, they have everything they need. But step 1 is making it illegal in the first place, then complaining that people are circumventing their "measures", which creates a pretext for creating it.

Because from what I've heard, in countries that ban Tor, Tor bridges are still usable because they hide your Tor traffic in VoIP packets which makes it extremely hard to determine if you are using Tor in the first place. I wonder if the same can be done with VPNs.
