Anubis enabled / Anubis otettu käyttöön
Hello, everybody!
Sopuli was today down for at least an hour. I tried to enable Anubis, a web AI firewall utility that should take care of those pesky AI bots. It has gotten popular recently and many Lemmy instances have enabled it, so we had to do the same. Lots of tinkering with Docker containers and Nginx. If I had learned that the command "docker HYPHEN compose" is archaic and "docker SPACE compose" is used instead, Sopuli wouldn't have been down. Regardless, we now have Anubis, enjoy!
Hei kailille!

This city is dumping Microsoft Office and Windows for OnlyOffice and Linux - here's why: zdnet.com/article/this-city-is…
'Is it something in the water? First, it was Denmark bidding Microsoft adieu. Then it was the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Now it's Lyon, France's third-largest city and a leading economic hub, sweeping Microsoft Windows and Office suite away to replace them with Linux, OnlyOffice, NextCloud, and PostgreSQL.
So, why is Lyon making this move? Well, it's not due to something in the water. Like the other European entities, Lyon's move is part of a broader strategy to achieve digital sovereignty and reduce dependence on Microsoft software. The simple truth is that many European-based governments no longer trust their data or software to American-based companies under President Donald Trump.'

: I saw it a long time ago (albeit very late). Not because I'm a genious, but because It was 100% predictable.
Here's my general advice to anyone (definitely including Zionists):
If you want to murder people and
THEN commit suicide, please
change the order ASAP.
You will be much less hated.
The longer you wait, the worse it will end for you.
And non-Zionists Jews will suffer because idiots cannot distinguish between non-Zionist Jews and Zionists, because Zionists claim that all Jews are Zionists.
Which is the case because Zionists treat ANYONE who is not a Zionist as inferiour and dispensible, typically labeling them as antisemites (regardless whether they're Jews or not, and regardless whether they are Christians or not).
For them, you have two choices: be a Zionist or die.
I hope that every reader sees it now too.

How is it that within 10 minutes of the Online Safety Act, Ofcom is investigating 34 porn sites, yet in 30 years of disability legislation in the UK there hasn't been a single instance of case law for websites or apps because the EHRC has signally failed to support people with disabilities even when there is a strong case to be made? 😩

Some bloke called Keir Starmer made these pledges when he stood for Labour leader in 2020, “based on the moral case for socialism”.
Green New Deal, nationalised public services, human rights, “defend migrants’ rights”, abolish tuition fees, review arms sales, all that good stuff.
This guy sounds alright. Wish we had him as our Prime Minister. #UKpol @fkamiah17
He said "I think the Labour leadership mean well",
Me "Who Starmer?"
Him "Yes"
Me "No, he's a malevolent piece of....".
Starmer, Labour and Socialism now act like divorcees who hate each other.
One thing I swear, I will never ever vote for UK Labour, I am absolutely disgusted with the repressive state that UK has become.
Not unexpected from Conservatives or far right lunatic party, that a previously respected human rights lawyer is behind present awful misuse of power is utterly disgusting...

I've never seen such a coordinated push amongst world leaders on this 'issue.' There's no doubt in my mind that they talked with one another about forcing this down everyone's throat.
I'd really like to know what bug crawled up their collective asses to all of a sudden, out of nowhere, decide that we need mandatory IDs to browse the Internet "NOW NOW NOW NOW." It's almost like they're operating under a time limit to get this implemented and they don't care about being so brazen about it.
The giant fucking issue is that they have unlimited tries to get this passed. And everyone has only one chance to stop it. They can keep trying over and over and over again and just wait until the public is too fatigued to fight anymore to get it passed.
Once a law is passed, it almost seems like it needs an inhuman amount of political capital and lobbying money burnt to reverse it, which almost seems like it's by design at this point.
You're right, I think mostly because "political capital and lobbying money" isn't actually how policy is decided.
There are real one-way functions though, and some of them are to our benefit. If pressure on big tech ends with Fediverse and Nostr going mainstream, there's no going back from that and that's something they literally cannot control.
Our gameplan should be: Decentralization & decoupling from centralized systems, encryption & VPN, Monero markets, and zeroing in on divisions in their power structure (i.e. playing them off against each other)
In the space of censorship, there will be a huge issue in what gets added to the list, because "everyone" wants to add something, and if the list ends up with everything then the censored media regime becomes trash, so we should be encouraging censorship scope creep.
I think we also need to be in the digital ID game, because (for example) you want to be able to post something anonymously, but have people know that it's coming from a Known Good Guy...
Trump might as well embody the worst parts of Reagan, Nixon, and Bush put together, but I think the Epstein thing is unrelated.
But it sure seems like they're making a massive coordinated push like their lives depend on it for whatever reason. They clearly don't care about the last shred of good will from the public they're burning through to get this rammed through everywhere. Because practically everyone's noticing this.
@Burger I think they've been looking at the behaviours demonstrated during the covid lockdowns and see that while they were able to largely stop people meeting in person and speaking freely and looking after each other, they also saw the dissent online, you know the 'misinformation' crowd. They want to control that absolutely before they do the next similar thing.
They've seen that in order to account for the outliers that they will need to control the net. The 'protecting children' line is just the sugar sprinkled on the dick they want us all to suck.
