europesays.com/uk/313046/ Russian troops resort to ‘total infiltration’ tactics in front-line Pokrovsk, Ukraine’s commander-in-chief says #EU #Europe #Ukraine

Listening to people criticize Trump who never once criticized Biden triggers me. If you did not speak out against lockdowns, masks, forced-coerced shots, Ukraine, Gaza, laptop, corruption in the D party, Russiagate, Biden's cognitive decline, legal action against Trump etc etc you do not get to piss and moan about Trump's authoritarian streaks. We will do it. So it sounds reasonable and not unhinged. Just clean your own house up.

He used to be a fencing coach and in the summer he traveled to Altai, where he worked as a pararafting and parakayaking instructor at a charity camp for children with cerebral palsy. "... the rate of interest … is not a function of the quantity of money. It is a function of “time preference,” of the rate at which people prefer satisfactions in the present to the same satisfactions in the future. … … time preference is deeply rooted in human nature and the nature of man; it is not in the least a monetary phenomenon but would be just as true in a world of barter." — Murray N. Rothbard.

> Psalms 73:25-28 📖

Whom do I have in heaven?

There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart fails,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish.
You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.

But it is good for me to come close to God.

I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works.

Behavioral Scientists Now Believe Feminists Are Always Angry Because They Don't Have A Man To Tell Them To Calm Down

At publishing time, fashion experts had released a theory that hypothesizes that feminists all dress so stupidly because they don't have a man around to tell them that dresses look nice.

Fascism in Scotland

Tonight a number of us were at an anti-fascist counter protest, off the back of the GB national strike protests, this was was at a refugee hotel in Aberdeen.

There was about 120 fash, 30 anti-fash and only 25 police. but they didn't get near the hotel.

So to any Aberdonians here, you need to pay attention, a lot of this stuff is being spread on other social media networks. This is what the first embers of fascism looks like, imagine what we could do if we outnumber them.

"Anarchy is what happens wherever order is not imposed by force. It is freedom: the process of continually reinventing ourselves and our relationships.

Any freely occurring process or phenomenon—a rainforest, a circle of friends, your own body—is an anarchic harmony that persists through constant change. Top-down control, on the other hand, can only be maintained by constraint or coercion: the precarious discipline of the high-school detention room, the factory farm in which pesticides and herbicides defend sterile rows of genetically modified corn, the fragile hegemony of a superpower.

Anarchism is the idea that everyone is entitled to complete self-determination. No law, government, or decision-making process is more important than the needs and desires of actual human beings. People should be free to shape their relations to their mutual satisfaction, and to stand up for themselves as they see fit.

Anarchism is not a dogma or a blueprint. It is not a system that would supposedly work if only it were applied right, like democracy, nor a goal to be realized in some far-off future, like communism. It is a way of acting and relating that we can put into practice right now. In reference to any value system or course of action, we can begin by asking: How does it distribute power?

Anarchists oppose all forms of hierarchy—every currency that concentrates power into the hands of a few, every mechanism that puts us at a distance from our potential. Against closed systems, we relish the unknown before us, the chaos within us by virtue of which we are able to be free."

Young woman lost her last child to Israel's flour massacres in northern Gaza #Palestine tiktokgenocide.com/uploads/you…

There are but a few people from #Gaza on the #Fediverse that somehow manage (I don't know how) to report what they see and experience, every few days.

Out of them, I'm currently following one account whose posts I have come to trust in:

Please follow them, and educate yourself via their first-hand accounts on what people are enduring in Gaza.

If you take offense at them and others asking for donations, to feed and save their own and other families, consider what you'd do yourself if you had to pay $60 / 50€ for a single kilogram of flour.

Or, alternatively, again and again, had to fear for the life of a family member that's away, walking miles and miles to queue up at an "aid distribution" site where soldiers have killed more than a thousand desperate people already, merely for trying to get hold of something to eat.

Yes, there are many fraudulent people trying to exploit your sympathy, on the back of the #Palestinians in Gaza. No, its not impossible to find at least one trustworthy human being in need, and to help them survive.

[Update 4: Digging deeper, and having had conversations with several others, I have come to the conclusion that I need to remove another account, due to serious doubts, when looking at the whole picture. I will leave this post up, for transparency.]

[Update 3: Added a reply to this post, concerning donations and scams]

[Update 2: Upon further interaction, the removed account proved to be fraudulent, it'll stay removed]

[Update: temporarily removed one of the accounts mentioned, since it needs further verification]

There have been numerous reports about #Gaza-related scams hitting social media. Take them with caution, and seek for evidence. Leaving a scammer account up is as bad as taking a legit account down, by reporting, just because you think it "might be" a scam.

My personal policy on #donations:

  • I do not donate larger amounts to campaigns of individuals. Larger amounts go to long-standing aid organizations with a positive reputation.
  • I may be scammed by individual scammers for smaller amounts, sometimes without even learning about it, afterwards. I'm taking the loss, reporting both the accounts on the respective social media server, and their campaigns on the respective fundraising platforms.
  • I'm reminding you of my recommendation, above: Taking offense at somebody merely for asking for donations is not ok. It erodes any form of mutual aid. Looking for verification, and stopping to promote somebody's posts when you see evidence of fraud, is the thing to do.

The one thing I hated about Bluesky was the number of TERFs and other far right types there. No real human moderation, lots of impersonation, and block lists can't keep up as Bluesky allows you to create other names too to easier to spoof and get round blocks and mutes. It's a hell-hole almost as bad as the dead bird site. Glad we have a decent group here with almost no TERFs.

Islamic Center pleads for leniency for convicted child rapist over 'this situation'
An Islamic Center in Minnesota has written to a judge handling the case of a man convicted of child rape seeking leniency for him over "this situation," when he "abducted the 12-year-old girl from her backyard, bashed her over the head, and transported her in his car, where he raped her before she was able to escape."

"What Israel is pursuing, in the words of former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, is 'indiscriminate, limitless, cruel and criminal killing of civilians,' not from 'some disproportionate outburst by some soldiers in some unit' but through 'government policy—knowingly, evilly, irresponsibly dictated.'

Growing up, every aspect of my Jewish identity was connected to the Holocaust…."

"The debate over whether or not Gaza is a genocide is, effectively, over. So can we now also stop pretending that we are mere bystanders to this genocide? That our sin is one only of omission rather than commission? Because the inconvenient truth is that the US has not just looked the other way, as tens of thousands of Palestinians have been besieged and bombed, starved and slaughtered, but helped Israel pull the trigger."
