This is very well written by a woman who enjoyed her beauty benefits until she was 35 and realized that suddenly, she wasn't special anymore and had to work for a living like all the men.

I have to admit that I also enjoyed enormous benefits based on talent - I'm very good at what I do, so I got many things handed to me... thought not without effort. Just way above what I would have gotten with a normal career.

How many people can take 3-4 months of vacation every year and travel all over the planet - for fun and work? How many people can reject offers to work as consultant for IBM?

The very next day after I had said NO, to IBM, I went to Paris for a DuPont project. I got on the wrong bus to the exhibition center and found myself with people from all over France who had come to Paris for an employment competition. France Telecom had 300 job openings and they expected 3000 applicants.

As I chatted with young people eager to get such a great job (paid just above minimum wage) I was thinking: "If they knew that I just rejected an IBM job paying 10x the French minimum wage, they'd kill me..."

There's another benefit: while talent also requires work, it lasts longer. There isn't such a sudden cut-off point as for women who coast along on their great looks.

It's the funniest shit i've ever seen. And people would keep coming for the tours, like legit tourists thought it was real and he was serious. He'd just take their money and bring them to the bar for "sight seeing" and spend it all and get hammered.
