Axios on Monday reported that a group of Democratic lawmakers is urging President Donald Trump's administration to formally recognize a Palestinian state, citing the worsening crisis in Gaza and recent international momentum behind Palestinian self-determination.

The combination of this framing and previously-mentioned “folks that explore this by choice vs. having it thrust upon them” is _very_ clarifying. I’ve had generally positive centaur-shaped experiences augmenting my side project development with LLMs. Being forced to use e.g. Copilot (which isn’t even good) with the metrics-driven expectation of higher output would make me deeply resentful.
the sad part is that the "centaurs" aren't being assisted by just machines, they're being assisted by machines supported by reverse-centaurs. All the people tasked with cleaning datasets, and all the artists whose work was (and is) stolen to train the machines are the human price of the centaurs' fun experience. And it's not *necessary* to train generative systems thus way, it's just *cheap* and *fast*.
