Against all odds, you walked by our side for many years. We felt and learned from your solidarity, your tireless struggle against the prison system. Thanks to you, Mumia Abu Jamal is present in our struggles. With every letter you translated, with every event you organized, and the many times we watched the films that you screened.
We bid you farewell with much love, with much gratitude and with a piece of the strength you gave us over the years.
We remember you with every step we take against prisons, in the fight for freedom for prisoners of Black liberation struggles in the United States, and in the struggle for prisoners who fought in defense of the land.
We will remember you in every stanza we tirelessly read from the lyrics you left us, in how close you brought us to the struggles you were involved in.

P.S. 1. Logistical issues. The group of people who accompanied Caro in the last years are coordinating with those who found her body in order to give her a dignified and loving farewell.

I saw an announcement from the Village today that as part of the summer concerts in the park, or whatever they call them, one of my favorite bands, The Gufs, is going to be playing a free show in the park on 8/14, which is literally two blocks down from my house.
I saw these guys when they they played in the basements at house parties when I went to UWM, before they actually got a record deal. Gonna be great to see them again!
