Albert parle aussi de dissonance cognitive, de biais psychologiques, du parallèle avec la cigarette ou la bombe atomique, et de cette idée fausse selon laquelle "on s’en est toujours sortis jusqu’ici". Il dénonce le confort des citadins, souvent protégés des effets immédiats, et montre que pour beaucoup, le dérèglement climatique est déjà une réalité vécue.
