@Jeanniewarner @rrb Yeah, have you ever read those interviews with CEO's that beg the question, 'what does your day consist of?'
It's always like, "I get up at 7:00, hit the gym, have a light breakfast, then I get a few calls out of the way. After walking the dogs and a few laps in the pool, I head to work on my eBike at 11:00."
It's like they have this rock star rider tour contract. "Coffee & Bagel truck on Wednesday's must park next to the tennis courts."

Wow, Major Russia announcement from Julian Assange News

The storm has arrived. Putin has demanded the extradition of Bill Gates and Anthony Fauci for crimes against humanity—and he's not bluffing. Russia now holds irrefutable intelligence proving COVID-19 was engineered as a weapon, not a mistake. The world is at a crossroads: hand over the monsters who unleashed death and control, or watch the whole house of cards collapse.

It's a time of war. And it's a time of radicalized activism. Makes sense. Not good, not ideal, but nobody wants to import Palestine activists into their Unis.

I know this is very childish of me, as “Gesundheitsminister” is a perfectly ordinary, respectful German word ... but to my Anglophone ear it just sounds like an evil troll from a Brothers Grimm tale who kidnaps children and makes them sneeze non-stop until they drop dead.

I don't think AI can do your job (but I *do* think an AI salesman can convince your boss to fire you and replace you with an AI that *can't* do your job). However, there is a class of workers whose jobs can be performed *perfectly* by AI: workers with bullshit jobs:

Sensitive content

There’s an eye opening article in FT quoting Morgan Stanley about the size of the generative AI bubble developing.

ft.com/content/7052c560-4f31-4…

“Hyperscaler funding of $300bn to $400bn a year compares with annual capex last year for all S&P 500 companies of about $950bn.”

Paywallless: archive.ph/2025.07.30-135255/f…

Tl;dr - if GenAI doesn’t pay off - as Morgan Stanley point out, it may not meet expectations - it will be 10 times higher than any previous bubble pop. 🥤 🍿

THE IMMORTAL SURVIVOR: WEST AFRICAN LUNGFISH
The West African lungfish isn’t just a fish—it’s a biological marvel of endurance.
Survives up to 3 YEARS without food or water
When rivers dry up, it burrows into mud
Forms a protective mucus cocoon around its body
Uses its lungs to breathe air, patiently waiting for rain
This ancient fish can pause life itself until conditions return.
It's one of nature’s most extreme survivalists, defying drought, time, and hunger.
A living fossil with a survival strategy millions of years old.

@Mamako varish users do usually mark posts sensitive but they have emojis and profile pics that can't be marked sensitive. I've requested @Wiz to mark detroitcity.com as sensitive cuz that's the epitomy of depravity without censorship.

my question with the above post wasn't about that though, rather i was asking if there's a fediverse client that lets you hide sensitive posts (that are actually marked sensitive) from your feed, so they don't clog it up.

example of how it looks like on a browser. 3 whole posts in a row are sensitive but muted so they don't take up too much space.

We had a saying at my last job (InfoSec group for a large electric utility): > The bad guys only have to get it right *once*. We have to get it right *every time.* So I can empathise with Google here. ---

Awkward, Google put out a blog in June about teenagers phoning up orgs and getting access to their databases by asking for access.. and yesterday updated it to say they also got owned by the same kids. cloud.google.com/blog/topics/t…

#EA has confirmed that #Battlefield 6 will be completely unplayable on #Linux systems, including #SteamDeck, due to its new kernel-level anti-cheat system, “EA Javelin,” which explicitly blocks Linux. This move is a slap in the face to the growing #Linuxgaming community, especially considering how far compatibility has come with #Proton and #SteamOS.

Worse yet, EA is using open-source tech like the #GodotEngine in parts of the game, while denying access to the very platforms that champion #opensource. It’s hypocritical and #anticonsumer.

There’s no option to disable #anticheat for #singleplayer or #privateservers, meaning users who value #privacy or #freedom of platform are locked out entirely.

It's a hostile decision rooted in control, not security.

I'm confused. No one is forcing anybody to buy #Battlefield6 or to play it. I mean, I'd love nothing more than to run #Zbrush or #MarvelousDesigner on my #Linux workstation but neither of those applications support Linux. I've told #Maxon and #Clo3D that I would appreciate a native Linux version but until they release one I'm left using my SurfacePro running Windows. I do spend much more time in #Blender3D though and use #Blender for most of my finishing work so all's not lost. Don't buy #Battlefield if you don't like the fact that it won't play on Linux. Simple. ---

The point of our current government, of course, is to enable extremists.

"The Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships, a program housed within DHS designed to prevent domestic violent extremism within the US, has lost 20% of its staff since the beginning of the year. It is currently being led by a 22-year-old former intern from the Heritage Foundation"

Also FEMA is part of DHS, and DHS is a kidnapping & trafficking cartel led by a pathological liar.

Since the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, US imperialism has driven nuclear proliferation worldwide. Current nuclear flashpoints, such as Iran, show how the US continues to use nuclear blackmail to reinforce its dominance.

Vis Georges Unia :

Saviez-vous que l'institut de sondage ' #OpinionWay' appartient à Bernard Arnault, qui contrôle aussi 'Le Parisien', 'Les Echos', 'Radio Classique', 'l'Opinion', 'Paris match', 'Challenges'...) et évidemment 'LVMH', la principale source de revenus des médias français) ;

Que l'institut de #sondage CSA appartient à Vincent Bolloré (comme Canal +, CNEWS, Le JDD, Europe 1, Capital, Voici, Gala... et l'agence de communication HAVAS) qui avait racheté les médias Lagardère avec Bernard Arnault ;
