if all women you "interact" with are terminally online egirls. 99.9% of women are normal. the women in my neighborhood are sane. the women working in the bakery are sane. this RW meme of all women are to be subdued is in diametral opposition to the goals - men and women have different traits complementary to each other. in classic societies women often held the key to the house and managed the household finances.

what really is a problem is that the (likely naturally stronger) impulse for empathy and the wish to be in-group in women is hijacked by media and politics for sinister purposes. THAT is what should be fought against.

Earlier this year, I made two trips to Sudan, where a terrible civil war has displaced 14 million people. The state is absent, international institutions are weak. Outside powers, motivated by greed and nihilism, have stepped into the vacuum, amplifying the conflict. In Sudan, the liberal world order has ended, and nothing has replaced it.

My concerns about Gary Stevenson’s economics of wealth taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/0… Gary Stevenson has emerged as a major exponent of wealth taxes, but his latest video has made it clear that his economics is neoliberal in its framing, embracing ideas such as the household analogy, claims that the government can run out of money and that it is funded by taxes, none of which are true. And the fact is that you cannot build social justice on the basis of inappropriate economic framing, so this matters.

According to Abijah Savage, the Bonetta's commander, the pirates looted the ship for 15 days, during which time King demanded to join Bellamy's crew. The 60 degree or greater Apparent FOV really increases the enjoyment of binocular viewing IMO. Whether nature viewing, birds, wildlife, astronomy. As long as the eye relief is decent enough.

50 degree Apparent FOVs (which are quite common)are serviceable but more utilitarian. It's easier to make these 50 degree AFOV eyepieces sharp with flatter fields. This smaller Apparent FOV can be advantageous when scanning for movement on a battlefield situation, keeping the entirety of the view in your primary cone of focus allows you to detect movement and outlines over a greater span of the field.

These Nikon 18x70 Astroluxe binocluars and the Fujinon 16x70 are the cream of the large binocular crop. Not counting the astronomically priced Zeiss, Swarovski and Leica produced stuff.

There are some good lower cost options like the Oberwerk 15x70 Deluxe. (There is a pair of these on eBay for a cool $230 right now.) I own a pair of these and they are fantastic large objective lens binoculars. @Elliptica may be interested in these eBay specials.

You really need a solid tripod and mount to get the most out of these though. They come with a nice protective carrying case. #Binoculars

Is it likely? No. Is it possible? Yes.

If you want to make absolutely sure that Windows can't spy on anything, you'll need to physically remove the storage device containing Linux when booting.

A more practical but slightly less secure approach is to enable full disk encryption on Linux. Then, if Windows does decide to get sneaky it'll only see random data.

This doesn't prevent hostile code such as ransomware from destroying the data though. For that, you need to have good backup hygene.

A good backup system is to have automatic daily backups to some online cloud storage provider, and weekly or monthly backups to a physical device you keep disconnected and safe.

In any case, the US government spends what it spends and the cuts Trump can make are a drop in an ocean, so either way average American won't be paying less anytime soon. In one way or another the American people have to pay for that and they will because there's no other way

These are not beginner's astromy binoculars.

I recommend a 10x50 with a Wide 60-70 degree Apparent Field of View...which you can ascertain by them having a 6.0-7.0 degree True FOV.

10x50 binoculars will much easier to hand hold, at the lower power and also much lighter weight.

But you can start with any binoculars that you may have, like common birding glass with 40-42mm objective lenses.
