This is why they almost never publish numbers on this topic. It's mostly fear-mongering articles going on about how many people got it. They almost never mention the vaccinated ratio of those people.

That's an empirical finding, based on a study of 1,779 policy outcomes, which concluded that:

* 71% of Europeans want transformational reform of the UN and IMF, with proportional votes based on member-states' populations (58% of Americans agree):

So on the one hand, this is all pretty dismal. It also makes the trend towards electing anti-democratic politicians who want to abolish elections a lot easier to understand.
If you (correctly) believe you live in a world where politicians don't care about you, why not vote for a strongman who'll punish your enemies and maybe leave you with a few crumbs?
But on the other hand, this is *very exciting*, because it shows us what a truly democratic world would look like (and just how different that world would be from the billionaire astroturf-dominated social media world)! If the popular will can achieve primacy, we'd live in a veritable paradise!
It also explains how candidates like Zohran Mamdani were able to *clobber* the political establishment simply by a) telling people that he would do popular things; and b) convincing them that he meant it.
Suppressing popular preferences in (nominal) democracies isn't easy. It requires absolute unity of the ruling classes. Whenever the faintest crack appears in capital's unity, good policies *gush* out of it.
That's what's happened with antitrust this decade, where the divisions between billionaire rentiers like Apple/Google and the millionaire capitalists who want to escape their 30% app tax has allowed a rush of effective antitrust enforcement to sweep the world, to the detriment of both:
By not hanging together, the rich let us hang them separately. And since there is no honor among thieves - since the rich want nothing more to eat one anothers' lunches - there is disunity aplenty for us to exploit. We just have to remember that we are the (very large) majority and *act like it*.

It’s great to see these stats…but how many of the people polled go about their everyday lives as if they believe in socialism, wealth ratios and limiting campaign funds? We all believe in radical ideas in theory, but at the same time think we have no personal agency to enact them. As a Brit I blame our state education and class system.
I think it's worse than pointless to blame people for not staging a performance of individual virtue that has zero chance of making a systemic difference. It's a form of Thatcherite counterrevolutionary reaction.
There is no belief more neoliberal than the belief that our individual consumption choices are the reason we are in this situation - or a way to change it.

One way to handle this problem is to make a CloneZilla image on an extra storage drive instead of doing a "disk to disk" clone.
I try to avoid "disk to disk" clones and favor "disk to image" operation, then "restore image to disk" operation to get it to the final destination.
This removes the possibility of me accidentally overwriting the wrong drive.
It take more time, as you have to transfer twice. However, then you also have a CloneZilla image of that point in time to go back to later (if needed).

Insects are arguably the most important animals on the planet. Their variety is unparalleled in nature, and they carry out vital tasks such as pollinating plants and providing food for other animals.
But all is not well in the insect world. Research over the last few years has shown sustained declines in insect species and numbers. It appeared Earth was witnessing a global-scale crash in insects – and climate change was partly to blame.
The evidence was mostly confined to temperate regions in the Northern Hemisphere. But our new research – published today in Nature – shows it’s also happening in the tropics, where most of Earth’s species live.
We found significant biodiversity loss in spiders, as well as insects including butterflies and beetles. The likely culprit is long-term changes to the El Niño cycle, caused by climate change. It suggests the life-support system underpinning the tropics is at serious risk in a warmer world.
It seems that I am becoming experienced with migrating very old Windows 10 installations on older hardware to newer hardware and then upgrading them to Windows 11.
The whole process is time consuming. Sometimes it is fairly easy, sometimes there's a whole lot of things that need to be done.
The one I am working on now was originally on an HP Pavilion desktop PC with a 1st Gen Intel i3 processor.
Had to convert SATA mode from RAID to AHCI.
To get a CloneZilla clone of the system, I had to fix an MBR GPT mismatch by deleting the GPT info, as this Windows 10 install was Legacy boot, not yet UEFI.
sgdisk -z /dev/sda (where sda is the drive to remove the GPT info from)
Did a full backup using Samsung Data Migration to a Samsung SATA SSD before that, just in case that operation caused data loss or a problem.
Then resized and moved partitions using gparted.
I planned on restoring the CloneZilla image to an nvme drive, not a SATA drive (as it was originally). So in order for Windows to be prepared for that, and not get an "inaccessible device" error, I ran this command in Windows right before making an image:
sc.exe config stornvme start= boot
Then got a CloneZilla image. Cloned it to another machine that could do both legacy and uefi boot (the original machine could only do legacy).
After all that, the commands to convert from legacy to uefi boot didn't work because there was no recovery partition. I had to copy the winre.wim file from another Windows installation (got it from another customer computer that I have currently with Windows 10).
Had to put that winre.wim file in C:\Windows\System32\Recovery - then run "reagentc /enable" to enable the recover environment.
Then this command worked:
mbr2gpt /convert /allowFullOS
It would not before enabling the recovery environment.
Next step is rebooting the machine in UEFI mode and making sure the Windows 10 installation has, in fact, been converted from mbr to gpt.
When that is done, I can run the upgrade process from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using an installer created by the rufus disk creator utility that bypasses the hardware checks Windows 11 normally has.
After a successful upgrade, I can finally move it to the newer computer that the customer purchased from me.
I have to put Windows 11 on a Windows 10 laptop, and I feel dread. Do you know if the Rufus feature still works that bypasses the Microsoft account requirement?
