For programmers, the worst kind of bug is the Heisenbug. Bugs that are manifest only intermittently.

If a bug is deterministic and reproducible, you can often work around it. Programs that do the right thing in a specific set of circumstances and the wrong thing in others are still often useful. We know how to deal with those.

Programs that produce the wrong output sometimes, when a different run with the same input gives the right answer, are the least useful.

Anyway, I think I had a point about LLMs I was going to make.

So. Update zu gestern.

Man wird uns das Wasser abstellen. Und zwar nicht, weil wir Mieter nicht gezahlt haben, sondern weil unsere 6 Mietshäuser verkauft wurden und der neue Vermieter wohl Zahlungsschwierigkeiten hat.

#Gelsenwasser kann nichts machen. Der neue Vermieter meldet sich sich nicht und ist nicht erreichbar. Auch für uns nicht. Es meldet sich niemand, laut Bandansage 1 Betriebsferien bis zum 15.08.2025 und der Verweis auf eine Notfallnummer endet in einer weiteren Bandansage, dass man eine Nachricht hinterlassen kann.

Gelsenwasser hatte uns gestern über die Einstellung der Trinkwasserversorgung informiert. Die letzte Frist, die dem neuen Vermieter gesetzt wurde, läuft am 18.08.2025 ab. Laut Gelsenwasser wird nach Ablauf dieser Frist sehr vermutlich recht schnell das Wasser abgedreht. Wir bekamen schon den Tipp, die Badewanne, sofern verfügbar, am Vorabend nochmal richtig volllaufen zu lassen. Oder die Rechnung selbst zu übernehmen.

Und ich frage mich, wie es sein kann, dass in Deutschland einfach das Wasser so abgestellt werden kann.

Wir werden weiterhin Informationen sammeln und sehen, was man dagegen unternehmen kann.
