Werden einfach nur keine Genehmigungen mehr erteilt, oder werden die einfach später erteilt? Wird einfach weiter geliefert, wenn's schon genehmigt war? Oder werden die Rüstungsgüter bei der Lieferung oder Genehmigung einfach nur mit einem Zettel versehen auf dem steht "nicht in Gaza einsetzen"?
Laut internationalem Gerichtshof darf die Bundesregierung ohnehin nichts tun, was die Besatzung des ganzen Gebietes von Palästina stützt. Exporte von Rüstungsgütern wären danach ohnehin fast vollständig illegal.
Die Ankündigung von Merz bedeutet natürlich am Ende auch, dass die Bundesregierung damit bestätigt, dass die Bundesregierung weiter Rüstungsgüter für den Genozid bzw für Kriegsverbrechen in Gaza geliefert hat - sehr relevant für das Verfahren gegen Deutschland vorm internationalem Gerichtshof. Das bestätigt sich dann noch mehr wenn dann wirklich weniger geliefert wird. Wenn doch weiter Rüstungsgüter geliefert werden, dann mit dem klaren Wissen dass sie für Genozid eingesetzt werden.
Dass der IGH Israel eine Verletzung der Genozid-Konvention attestieren wird, steht mittlerweile eigentlich außer Zweifel, zumindest solange es das Gericht bis dahin noch gibt. D.h., Deutschland kann jetzt nur noch Rückzugsgefechte mit Blick auf das eigene Verfahren führen…

America no longer had the capacity to enrich uranium — I only learned myself this year — which meant it could no longer fuel itself without the help of foreign governments. Mostly, that placed us at the mercy of Europe, which refused to fuel our military bases. But we were also #buying enriched uranium from #Russia. In fact, we were buying it that very afternoon in November 2023, as war raged in #Ukraine. Our government hadn’t included enriched uranium in its initial sanctions against Russia on account of it really couldn’t. Fuel-dependence was not only a risk to our grid, but a risk to our national security.
#NuclearEnergy, despite its somewhat confusing status in our culture, where battles for its adoption are often waged with great, righteous indignation, as if attempting to persuade some alternative course for our civilization, presently accounts for nearly 20% of American energy production.
In labs across the country, reactors produce critically important medical isotopes for use in cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and neurology. Then, military applications are obvious, as are their critical importance to our nation’s security, and require significantly greater enrichment than anything used by civilians.
In all of this, we need fuel. American companies used to enrich it. They no longer do. Today, nuclear enrichment is dominated by #Russia’s #Tenex (#Rosatom), #Europe’s #Urenco, #France’s #Orano, and #China’s #CNNC, all of which are state-backed or closely aligned with national governments. Here, a few (foreign operatives) would probably quibble. There is one plant in America. But while Europe’s Urenco operates a facility in #NewMexico, it uses European centrifuge tech and security protocols, which means — via braindead policy agreements — while there is technically some capacity to enrich on the U.S. mainland, our government doesn’t control that capacity, and can’t even use it to power our military bases.
But don’t worry, they’re working on it!
General Matter is a nuclear enrichment startup, which means once its enrichment facility is up and running in Paducah it will be producing fuel for nuclear power plants, including the classic giants cooked up in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as the sexy sleeker modern microreactors and small modular reactors (SMRs).
In the meantime, I suppose we could just buy some from #Iran. It’s a good thing that whole “totally destroying Iran’s nuclear infrastructure” thing was nothing more than an expensive sound-and-light show.

Son crime ? Avoir osé lancer des mandats d’arrêt contre Benjamin Netanyahou, Yoav Gallant, et d’autres responsables israéliens pour crimes de guerre à Gaza et en Cisjordanie occupée. Une première dans l’histoire de la CPI.
Mais en touchant à l’impunité d’Israël, Karim #Khan a brisé un tabou. Il est devenu un homme à abattre. Littéralement.
L’enquête menée par 'Middle East Eye' le confirme : le #Mossad est directement impliqué dans des opérations de #pression et de #surveillance contre Karim Khan, au cœur même de l’ #Europe. Les services néerlandais ont classé Israël comme “menace étrangère” pour la première fois, après avoir informé le procureur des risques pesant sur sa sécurité à La Haye.

Israël ne se contente plus de nier les faits ou de contester la compétence de la Cour. Il agit en sous-main, via ses services de renseignement, pour neutraliser une #justice qui ose s’intéresser à ses #crimes.
Ce n’est pas une simple campagne de pression : c’est une opération de guerre psychologique et politique visant à décapiter une institution judiciaire internationale. Ce que vit aujourd’hui Karim Khan est une tentative de mise à mort politique, orchestrée par l’un des services secrets les plus redoutés au monde, avec l’aval ou la complaisance de ses alliés.
Si cette opération réussit, ce ne sera pas seulement Karim Khan qu’on fera tomber. Ce sera l’idée même de justice internationale qu’on enterrera.
Si Israël ,avec ses agents du Mossad, peut faire taire un procureur à La Haye, alors aucun tribunal n’aura plus jamais le pouvoir de juger les puissants.
