So I cut a piece of reaper that was small enough to fit on a toothpick. It smelled fruity. First bite was immediately like black pepper and the heat level grew to serrano or arbol levels. Fruity flavor in retrograde olfaction. Heat lasts for a long time, easily 10-15 minutes and saliva feels like a jalapeno in my throat 5 or more minutes after that. HR1 grabbed the cut pepper and didn't understand why I snatched their hand and made them wash thoroughly.

Thing is, this life Seija has chosen for herself is empty. I think she realizes that just as well as anyone else. It's why, despite all her talk about being despised, she's genuinely stuck with Shinmy. She can't betray the inchling because it'd hurt her to do so. For Seija, having that kind of connection is more painful than anything else. Maybe with more connections like that, Seija can become slightly better. Having someone to care about not just as a friend, but something more, could possibly get her to finally calm down.
