On the night of June 5, 1944, before the first wave stormed the beaches of Normandy, elite paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Div were already deep behind enemy lines. Their mission was critical: secure key crossroads, disrupt German defenses, and pave the way for the beach landings at dawn.

This video uncovers rare original footage and firsthand accounts from the paratroopers who landed near

Marmion Farm, a vital objective just outside Carentan. What they encountered there was brutal, chaotic, and decisive. Facing fierce German resistance, the battle for Marmion Farm became one of the earliest and most dangerous engagements of D-Day.

Through restored archival film, maps, & testimony, this video brings you as close as possible to the experience of the first soldiers on the ground. These men weren’t storming the beaches—they were already fighting for their lives behind enemy lines.

U.S. strategists are preparing for a new war in Asia, with new bases, alliances and threats. Those munitions are aimed at China and North Korea, effectively making South Korea a front line of U.S. imperialism in Asia.

I talked about this over a year ago in a video. Once the conflict in Ukraine and the genocide in Palestine end, one way or another, look out for this. Koreans, at least, know it: Working class people there are less sympathetic to imperialism than most might imagine, in my experience. They're organizing, and perhaps there's some optimism to be had.

in reply to Comrade Ferret

@Comrade Ferret

Yes, it seems near certain that the USA will go to war with China in the next few years, before China catches up with it militarily. I think the USA wants to balkanize both China and Russia, its two largest and dangerous rivals. I suspect their broad war plan will be

  • USA, along with Japan, South Korea, Australia, Philippines, and Taiwan, will take on China from the Pacific side (USA will supply the arms and few people; the people from those other countries, especially the yellow/brown countries, will act as cannon fodder; the statement you shared anticipates this)
  • If India agrees, it will be simultaneously asked to harass China from the Himalayan side
  • Simultaneously, the European vassal states of the USA will ignite a relatively low-key military conflict with Russia, so that Russia is not left with military resources to assist China even if it wants to (this larger plan is the primary reason the USA is forcing Japan, Germany, and other allies to aggressively increase their military spending and prepare for war)
  • Once China is balkanized into very many small vassal states, USA and its allies can encircle Russia from all sides, including its China side; and then take it down and dismember it

Until the above plan goes into effect, the USA wants to wean Russia away from the Eurasian circuit (with China, India, Iran), and back into the Euro-American dollar circuit, to slow down or reverse de-dollarisation.

Let's hope the working class people across the world succeed in foiling this plan.

The US Wants Lebanon, Gaza and Iraq to Disarm and Will Fail

The US Trump administration not only believes it can disarm Hezbollah, the PMU, and Hamas, but that they will all do so voluntarily. To add to this delusional approach, they continue to demonstrate that by abandoning their weapons, the people of the region will be subjected to endless instability.

Washington based think-tanks are pushing for the dismantlement of the Iranian-led Axis of Resistance through disarmament, the policy being clearly designed to isolate the Islamic Republic in order to also force it into capitulation. However, the approach to achieving this goal is so incredibly out of touch that it may achieve the very opposite results.

Using its Arab Regime allies, particularly the Gulf States, to apply pressure, US envoy Steve Witkoff has attempted to demand of Hamas that it fully disarm. This has been combined with calls from the Pentagon and Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, for Iraq to dismantle the Popular Mobilization Forces and prevent them from integrating fully within the fold of Baghdad’s security apparatus. Then we have the attempt to disarm Hezbollah in Lebanon, an effort led by US envoy Tom Barrack.

Starting with Gaza, the request in and of itself is simply not serious. The al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas would never simply disarm without any guarantees or processes to ensure the protection of the people of the Gaza Strip.

In fact, if we look at the resistance in its entirety in Gaza, they fight as one unit that is inseparable from the people’s popular will. Hamas is no longer just a political party, the al-Qassam Brigades armed wing of Hamas is now the resistance of a people suffering through a genocide.

Also, the Palestinian people have the example of the West Bank and what the situation looks like when the resistance is disarmed and abandons the struggle. When Israeli settlements expand, annexation orders are imposed, and ethnic cleansing begins, there will be nobody to even fight back.

The lessons taught to the Palestinian factions in Gaza were learnt in 1982. When the Israelis invaded Lebanon, killing around 20,000 Lebanese and Palestinians, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) eventually decided to hand over its weapons and its leadership to flee to Tunisia.

Almost immediately afterwards, a series of bloody civilian massacres took place against Palestinian refugees and the Shia Lebanese, killing thousands at a time when no considerable resistance force existed to fight back. Then, the Israelis occupied southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah was born in 1985 out of this experience, as an organic southern resistance which would eventually expel the occupiers in 2000. After the 2006 defeat inflicted on the Zionist regime, the Israelis dared not launch any major aggression against Lebanon for the best part of 17 years.

In the case of Iraq, the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) were formed in order to put down the Daesh insurgency and liberate the country from a wave of Takfiri death squads. It is a massive force today which exists as a protective mechanism that deters the return of such groups from the country.

Attempting to disband the PMU in Iraq is impossible by force and would lead to a civil war style situation, which could end up resulting in Iraqi groups securing even greater power and popular support inside of the country.

In the case of Lebanon, the fall of Syria’s former government and the way the US has so far handled the situation, has taught the diverse population valuable lessons. Even if the Lebanese leadership will work alongside the US in an attempt to seize Hezbollah’s weapons, it is clear to the populace that disarmament leaves Lebanon open to invasion from Syria and places the country at the will of the Zionist Entity.

If we look over to neighboring Syria, immediately upon the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, the Zionists invaded and have been attacking at will inside Syria ever since, with no resistance whatsoever. The new regime in Damascus even works alongside the Israelis as they steal more of its land, instead choosing to allow their allied militias to butcher minority communities throughout Syrian lands.

Everything we have seen occur across the region over the past 22 months, with the full support of the United States, teaches the Arab public that capitulation spells the end of their nations and leaves them vulnerable to endless abuses.

It appears, however, that officials and pro-war think-tanks in Washington are not capable of grasping what the reality on the ground truly looks like and how this could very quickly spiral out of control; and not in the US’ favor. None of these groups which form the Axis of Resistance are going to abandon their own people by simply handing over their weapons, especially given the overtly stated intentions of their enemies.

Update on the Court Decision of Anarchist Andreas F: Athens, Greece

On Friday 18/7, the court ended the “Revenge Conspiracy” case in which the anarchist comrade Andreas Floros was on trial. After the prosecutor’s acquittal, the court unanimously declared the comrade innocent due to doubt concerning membership and with no doubts at all on any other charges, and Andreas was released from Korydallos prison a few hours later.

Over 70 people were gathered in solidarity inside and outside the courtroom, which was tightly cordoned off by all the special forces of the police, breaking the deafening silence of every kind of court with slogans of solidarity, standing by Andreas and every persecuted person.

The acquittal comes after 15 months of being held hostage in Amfissa and Korydallos prisons for Andreas, who from the first moment of his arrest denied any charges in the otherwise bleak scenario of the anti-terrorism. Once again, it was proven that the anti-terrorism, relying on the legislative framework of 187A, is organizing persecutions against anarchists and individuals in struggle. In this way, they have repeatedly attempted to spread fear around anyone who dares to question and stand against the dominant dictates of the exploitation system.

In a case with many parameters that had to be taken into account by the world of solidarity, we witnessed vengeful methods, not only against our comrade but also against the other defendants in the case aimed at supporting the anti-terrorist scenario and ultimately imposing exhaustive sentences on most of them. In a court in which any coherent evidence leading to the support of 187A was not even supplied by the very service that had led to the prosecution, the terrorist once again became the Trojan horse so that the scenarios and methods of the state and the MME could be validated .

Thus, those accused and convicted under 187A, received long-term sentences in the first instance, starting from 15 years and reaching 37 years (estimated 20) for the anarchist Fotis Tziotzis, who, although he was imprisoned during the time the actions of the indictment took place, was convicted of “moral instigation” for all the actions and for “direction” of the organization. At the same time, no mitigating circumstances were recognized, even for the accused who “fell” under 187A.

In the face of this entire horror-narrative, for 15 months now comrade Andreas has maintained a consistent militant stance throughout the condition of confinement. He published texts both on his case and on broader social/class issues and participated in several events by telephone. Furthermore, a solidarity movement was set up with dozens of events and actions in several cities. The solidarity movement succeeded in reversing the terror regime that the police had tried to impose, especially in the city of Patras. The world of struggle found itself on the streets and stood against repression in an era of accelerating state violence and an imposed modern totalitarianism.

Andreas’s case encapsulates all the vengeful fury of the state and the police against those who unwaveringly stand by the oppressed and exploited, on the side of those at the bottom of this world.
To those who do not tolerate repression, fascism, sexism, war, death and poverty. To those who fight for a world of freedom, equality and solidarity.

Self-organized – Unmediated – Unyielding struggles against repression, state manipulations and fear

Solidarity opens paths to freedom

We have a whole world to win – We have a lifetime to try

Solitary Confinement in South Carolina Leads to Suicide and Psychosis

I recently wrote about the barbaric conditions in South Carolina’s solitary confinement units (euphemistically called “Restrictive Housing Units”). [1] I want now to give examples of the effects of these conditions on its victims. I write this as I remain confined in one such unit in SC’s Perry Correctional (sic!) Institution.

In the cell next to me is Rakeem Scott #373388. Throughout the day he giggles and talks to himself. Not so loudly –– well not initially –– that it draws alarm, but adrift in his own world, in what is obviously a desperate attempt by his mind to compensate for, cope with and escape the total isolation he suffers inside an empty concrete box with no access to the outside and next to no human contact. As the weeks have passed his giggling and talking to himself have become louder, more erratic.

On May 29, 2025 the chaplain here, a man named Peatre, came to Rakeem’s cell asking if he were okay.
“Your mother’s been calling the prison,” said the chaplain. “She’s worried. She hasn’t heard from you.”
My neighbor mumbled something inaudible in dismissal of the chaplain. Nothing much else was said. The chaplain left telling Rakeem he’d let his mother know he was okay. He’s not okay.

A few days later a nurse peered into his cell while issuing his mental health medications.
“Where are your sheets?” she asked. “You don’t have sheets?”
“No,” he answered. He’d been sleeping on a bare plastic-covered mattress in a cold cell for months.
She asked the guard why he had no sheets. The guard blew her off as if to say, “Why do you even care?” This is how we’re treated.

A few days later still, Rakeem reported to a mental health worker Marie Cox that his mental health medications don’t help anymore, that he’s feeling worse. Prisoners with mental illnesses aren’t supposed to be held in solitary. It is well known to exacerbate their conditions and cause further mental injury. Almost everyone in my cellblock takes antipsychotic meds.

And it’s not just that Rakeem hasn’t contacted his mother. He couldn’t if he wanted to. We’re housed on a non-communication wing, where everyone in this block is barred from using the phone or to send and receive emails on the prison tablets. We haven’t broken any rules that warrant or authorize any of this. In fact the SC Department of Corrections’ (sic!) own disciplinary policy states that phone restriction may only be imposed as a disciplinary penalty for findings of guilt on an infraction for misusing the phone. Not one of us has been charged or found guilty of misusing the phone. We’re just targeted, by abuse of power.

I was put in this block to be held incommunicado in stated retaliation for an article I wrote about my transfer to and treatment here in the SCDC and people calling headquarters about my treatment. I was thrown in solitary on a completely fabricated disciplinary report (that was doctored up and served on me weeks after I was thrown in solitary), and confronted by an irate special agent from the state’s Inspector General’s office named Fergeli (phonetic spelling), only minutes after I was locked up from general population. He told me if I didn’t tell people and the media to stop calling HQ about me we’d cut off all my lines of communication, have me criminally charged, that I’d remain in solitary and I’d “get hurt.” He said this message came from HQ and he’d driven an hour to deliver it. I responded that I would tell people no such thing and that he should tell the media himself. Two days later I was moved to the non-communication wing and all my communication lines were cut off. Each cell on the wing had a sign on the door stating that the occupant was banned from phone and tablet use.

Most of the others in this non-communication block have pending criminal charges initiated by special agents with Fergeli’s office. These agents conspire with SCDC administrators to illegally use this non-communication block as a form of enhanced torture (over and above solitary confinement) to coerce them to plead guilty to their pending charges in exchange for being moved from this wing and returned to general population where most of them were previously housed. They’re literally told as much. Just like a tortured confession.

Being housed in Perry’s inhumane solitary confinement unit with the added abuse of being held incommunicado has driven my neighbor into deeper mental crisis. I am witness to it.

In another nearby cell is Wayne Hollinshead #300696. He’s hung himself twice and tried to kill himself by starvation and dehydration. First on April 9, 2025 after he’d protested months of being cut off from being able to contact his family. He recently lost a close relative who’d raised him like her own son. He threatened self harm. A Captain Brent Blakeley told him he didn’t care what he did and walked off. Minutes later another guard discovered him hanging in the cell, sprayed him with tear gas, and pulled him down.

He was brought out of the cell to speak with a mental health worker Randall Vickery, who told him he just needed to learn how to ‘cope’ and told guards to return him to his cell. Wayne protested he needed mental health crisis intervention. He was ignored. The next day he hung himself again with the same result.

Then beginning on June 2, 2025 he went nine days without eating; most of that time without drinking as well. The warden, Curtis Earley, came to his cell the following day and told Wayne they’d discuss moving him off the non-communication wing once he resumed eating. Eight days later he ended the strike. The warden hasn’t uttered another word to him.

The mental torture and physical abuse in Perry’s solitary unit is deliberate. The harmful effects are well known. The 4th Circuit federal appeals court that presides over SCDC has made this clear.

[2]Wayne has written a huge volume of requests and grievances to administrators, mental health and many other officials, especially Warden Earley, complaining of the enforced isolation, lack of sensory stimulation and overall torture of confinement in solitary and being cut off from communicating with his loved ones. He has complained about the effects it has had on his mental health.

He has explicitly told them it has made him suicidal and he fears for his life –– at his own hands. They know about his repeated suicide attempts. He’s been ignored and blown off. As pointed out, almost every prisoner around me is prescribed meds to treat mental illness. They have no business in solitary. And how is isolating them from contact with loved ones on top of that justified?

It is torture that is driving people to insanity and suicide. As the courts have pointed out and based on the volume of complaints from prisoners like Wayne Hollinshead, SC officials know what they’re doing.

It must be stopped!

In the Porter case the federal appeals court emphasized that prison officials can no longer pretend not to know the mental injuries that prolonged solitary confinement causes, based upon the extensive psychological studies and reports on the subject in recent years. In concluding this observation the court stated,

“Notwithstanding that scholars have conducted dozens of studies on the psychological and emotional effects of solitary and segregated confinement, the leading survey of the literature regarding such confinement found that ‘there is not a single published study of solitar y and solitary-like confinement in which nonvoluntary confinement lasted for longer than 10 days, where participants were unable to terminate their isolation at will, that failed to result in negative psychological effects.’”
