part of the reason I still enjoy my 15 years old Dell Lattitude: It has a mouse-stick and thus a set of button next to the space bar, very easy to reach without twisting. Hopefully somebody will come up with something similar for your framework.
@dryak Yup - for the last 20 something years I've been rewriting all my keyboard layouts so they're the same as the first Dell laptop I ever had. They got it right, and nobody since has come close.
For the last 5 years I've been using refurbished HP latitude G4s... because the trackpads on newer models are stupidly big, and the don't have buttons.
I need buttons. Not all, not even a lot... but some.
