I know I've been doomposting a fair bit, griping about stuff, but I really am feeling that the western left is simply cooked. It's all liberalism, all divisiveness, all reformism, all cowardice...all some combination of the three. In all these years, I've never found a counterexample, never found any group — whether a big org or a freakin' Discord channel — that can prove me wrong.

I'm once again genuinely thinking of just moving on from spending so much of my energy trying to find, or trying to cultivate, some level of rigorous and productive community. I don't see it working, and really, I don't see myself as the kind of person to do it. I've made so many mistakes in trying to be the person that does it.

It may be time for a new goal, and a new resulting identity: Maybe something that won't save the world, but might at least help some people. Maybe I can still do that.
