What if "participation" in this stuff becomes non-optional? Or, you know, compliance is done Microsoft-style, where they make a "reasonable" effort to obey the letter of the law unless there's a good business reason not to? Or your employer requires you use the interface?
Nope. Those things need proper open-sourced e2e encryption, and even then they could probably be used for horrible things. Once your captor punishes you for your thoughts, you'll learn to control them in ways you didn't think possible.

Ultimately, I wonder if the economic incentive is actually in helping people who otherwise have difficulties to communicate, or in human/machine interfaces and human communication that could benefit from not requiring body movements or spoken words because it's quiet and invisible, and could be triggered faster. That is: military stuff.

My insurance gave me a $150 gift card for confirming I had a mammogram. They really, really want low-income women to put their boobs in a scanner, so much they offer money. Today I burned my right-hand ring finger while cooking. It's been soaking in a bowl of ice water for most of the day. It's really painful...then I thought of the people in Gaza.....and my little problem of a burned finger...was very trivial.
Because I use my hands for work, I found a quick healing recepie. Whenever I injure my fingers, I put the medication on that may work best, like an ointment barrier cream and lidocaine if really needed. Then I cover that up by wearing a nitrile glove for a few weeks, cleaning and changing it every few days. Then I purposely undereat, but high protein, high fiber, no added sugars, during that time. Usually my fingers are totally healed on a few weeks. The point of undereating, or fasting, is to massively boost the growth hormone levels. And it works, especially when staying active. Bodybuilders do this trick too.
BURN. The ice water has helped my finger from continuing to cook. After hours - the pain has ceased. It’s now ready for First-Aid healing ointment and a bandage. To take a shower or a bath - I’ll have to wear a glove. The older I’ve gotten, the thinner my skin is getting - the sensitive nerves are closer to the surface - thus more intense pain and the seriousness of injuries. I have an over active immune system(autoimmune disease) It freaks out, and rushes to help me, but ends up making things worse. So, I have to be careful with the things I eat and drink - things that don't cause inflammation flare-ups- which in turn will cause my immune system to over re-act. I'm hoping my immune system will just leave the issue with my burned finger alone, and not come after it like a rabid bull-dog - thinking there is inflammation to fight.;-((
Hope things are better now @Ivy Blackledge Whitfield 2025. All of us have thinner skin as we get older, especially on the hands. I’ve cut myself with my own nails. Arg.
