seriously bummed out... I had been planning my Ontario trip for months and just my luck my flight is cancelled and the cost to rebook on a later date is significantly higher now. I already requested paid vacation days off from work and its too late now to cancel it so I feel like I should still go somewhere. Plus, I honestly need to deload from working out, fencing and dancing because I'm starting to feel burn out creep up on me. I may book a flight somewhere else on a whim if I can find a good travel deal on such short notice

I updated Airstatus to accommodate Bleak 1.1.0 and the removal of Discover.

Today I went to check the battery status of my Airpods Max and found that 'discover' had been fully removed from Bleak. I had been getting warnings for years that it was deprecated and would eventually be axed. Today was the day. After updating Arch I was hit with discover being an unknown import from Bleak. I've tried every other trick in the book to get my Airpods battery to show on Linux, but Airstatus was the only one. I did some diving and saw that BleakScanner had replaced Discover.

I decided I might as well at some QoL things that I had wanted during my use of Airstatus. The new script accounts for Airpods Max and only shows a single battery level for them, as well as a keyboard interrupt exit script if you're like me and just check your battery in the terminal from time to time.

This is my first github fork. I don't know if I followed all the fork etiquette, but I did add delphiki in the readme markdown to credit them, as well as placed a notice at the end that it was a fork mostly for my own use. The only reason I decided to post it here is to help out anyone else that might be running into the same problem. Feel free to point out anything I should add to the readme or any problems with the script itself.

I will be spending a lot more time actually learning Python. I started learning a while back, but it had to be put on the backburner due to life in general. I'll be completely transparent in that I needed some help from AI. I know the Python basics, and I'd love to be able to fix problems like these without having to consult AI at all, but I'm just not at the level to do this on my own yet. To be fair, I used it mostly as an assistant to check and troubleshoot each block and traceback error rather than having it spit the whole script out for me. That way I at least learned a bit. I did pull up the BleakScanner page, fullstack, and Python guides at first, but I was still struggling.

To wit: Inertia is the effect of imbalance of Unruh radiation caused by the fact that some of that radiation cannot reach you when you are accelerating because acceleration causes a Rindler horizon.

Interesting because Unruh waves can be blocked, which means you can have reactionless thrusters. The famous EmDrive is explained by QI, but there have also been a number of experimental reproductions of QI reactionless thrust using capacitors.

In another post, I demonstrated that reactionless thrusters are equivalent to free energy machines because they generate a fixed amount of force/torque for a given input, without consideration for speed/RPM that they are moving.

Getreide ist für Hunde, die keine individuelle Unverträglichkeit haben, kein Problem. Hunde können im Gegensatz zu Wölfen problemlos Stärke spalten und es ist sogar eine recht gut nutzbare Energiequelle. Ich habe zwei Hunde mit massiven (durch Medikamente erworbenen) Unverträglichkeiten, die beziehen sich aber alle nur auf individuelle Proteine. Brötchen, Reis, Nudeln, Pizzarand ist alles kein Problem.

Man, we keep having accumulating archivist/librarian layoffs happening at major private universities, at OCLC, at state libraries/archives, etc. I feel like the archives-interested public is aware of what's going down in the federal government but there is very little awareness of how much it's spreading outside of the feds. This shit is so bleak. I really don't know what the future of the profession looks like and that scares the shit out of me.

Not at all to bear false comfort because things are pretty bleak employment-wise, but in a couple more years as LLMs chew up and excrete the entire digital corpus and people (are encouraged to) lose the skills to read, seek, and research on their own even in academic settings, I think those skills are going to be sorely needed. I don’t think that reliably translates into compensation or social esteem, but some circles will honor it, and hopefully we can put those in charge by then.
