Interestingly the latest commit to the Volla Quintus kernel Github repository is almost 1 year old.
So either Volla developed the perfect Kernel without any security issues (and fixed all in the official Linux kernel). Or... The Volla Quintus is already EOL, although still being sold....??? Or they do not provide sources for Kernel updates, because why should you care for GPL?
these are the frequency bands at which your device operates. Each band is a set of frequencies. For example, band 2 in this case would be 1,900 megahertz frequency. Each region has a specific set of bands that devices need to support to work on carriers in that region. This device would support European carriers quite well, but would be really terrible for United States carriers because the frequencies dont match up well.
I do know that my Ubuntu Touch/Pixel 3a device has trouble with connection. I have to move to 4G to use mobile internet. And once finished, moved to 3G/2G to receive phone calls.
The UT team as said (IIRC) that USA companies get to set their own standards, that UT doesnt get to see. While the EU has set standards.
I believe voice over LTE and voice over new radio are standards set by the 3GPP, but I won't swear to that. At any rate, calling and texting especially is a whole jumbled mess due to how long it has been around with things like SSS7. It gets incredibly complicated, incredibly fast, and is incredibly insecure.
I wish they make an "small" phone too, something like 5,6" or 6" would be awesome. It's the reason I didn't bough the Fairphone 5 c'mon an smaller screen please 🙁

Please double check where it is made and by whom. From what I've read it is made by Gigaset in Germany. So not another rebranded chinese clone this time ... apparently. Cos you never really know these days, maybe they just add stickers in Germany u know and then say sth like "final product, phone with stickers is made in Germany of chinese phone plus some stickers" XD. Anyways, jokes aside. As far as I was able to check it is a Gigaset hardware made in Germany. And that would be a huge selling point for mamy incl. me. And another proof that casual "I make phones in China, so what? EVERYBODY does it" is just a convenient lie for many.

The Volla Phone Quintus might be a next step into the right direction. 👍 I wish me a Phone like the PinePhone with all it‘s features (mainly: Linux, external Display support, Pogo-Pins) but with a much much better performance.
