Former SAS soldier Oliver Schulz has become the first Australian serviceman to be charged with a war crime under national law. He was arrested in New South Wales and charged with the 2012 killing of an Afghan man in Uruzgan Province, an act caught on video and previously exposed in an ABC Four Corners documentary.
