You can literally grab your hard drive or SSD, plug it into another completely different PC, and still enjoy a fully functional install, with all your files, applications, and configurations.
Since the drivers for all the hardware Linux supports are in the kernel, you don't depend on what the manufacturer has preinstalled on your computer, and you don't have anything to install either when you move your disk to another PC.
The second thing is the ability to replace parts of your operating system with others, that fit your needs better. Windows and macOS are one size fits all operating systems; they're designed to provide a good enough experience for everyone. On Linux, you can pick a distro that fits your needs out of the box, or you can replace components. Get a other file manager, get a different window manager, change the init system...
Third, we have the live USB, or Live CD. This is something only Linux based operating systems do. You slap a reasonably sized ISO onto a reasonably sized USB drive, and you boot from it, and you get a fully usable system.
Not only can you try before you install, which is crucial when you're deciding what will run on your PC, but you can also have a distro that ONLY runs through a Live USB, like Tails, which means your whole system is in your pocket, and you can boot from it from any computer you want.
Have you tried running Windows on a 10 year old computer? Or even older? The latest, still supported version of Windows? Good luck, without spending time building a custom ISO to debloat the OS, and crossing your fingers for drivers to exist for your old hardware and that specific version of Windows. On a Mac, it's even less doable, the latest version of macOS supports at most the mac pro from 2013, and that was a very powerful, expensive device when it released.
On Linux? No problem, pick a distro that's lightweight, and enjoy your old computer like it was new. You'll get patches, security fixes, the very latest applications if you want them, but your system will run fine. If what you want is an OS that occupies the least amount of space possible? You also can.
Fifth thing you can do on Linux but not on Windows or macOS? Driverless printer support. On Linux, printers are detected automatically, and work out of the box. No driver CD to try and fit in your computer that doesn't have a CD drive anymore, no need to download anything from the internet.
You plug it in, and you print.
Next is UI and UX customization. Windows and macOS can't be customized visually. Not out of the box, not more than light or dark theme, and an accent color. If you want to change the icons, the general theme, the layout of the desktop, you can't.
With Linux, all major desktop environments let you change how your system looks or works. Yes, even GNOME. With extensions, and themes, you can have a radically different experience than the default.
Next, is no vendor Lock-in. On Linux, you're free to move to anything else. Once your distro is end of life, and won't receive any patches, you can upgrade for free to the next version, or, if you don't like that new version, you can also just decide to change distributions entirely.
On Linux, you could even BUY extended support to keep a distro alive and patched even when the distro's developer have abandoned it.

Under Ireland's VAT Act of 1972, ingredients in bread such as sugar and fat should not exceed 2% of the weight of flour in the dough.

The five judges, who were considering an appeal by Bookfinders Ltd, a Subway franchisee based near Galway, concluded that in Subway sandwiches the sugar content is around 10% of the flour in the dough for both white and wholegrain rolls.

It is not the first time Subway's bread has been in the spotlight. In 2014, the company announced it was removing azodicarbonamide - the so-called "yoga mat" chemical - from its rolls.

Has anyone actually successfully installed PostmarketOS on an old device recently? I've had a long struggle through trying to prepare a Nexus 7 (2012) and the result seems to be a dead device before I even got to actually installing PostmarketOS.The rough steps I followed are listed here:
- Create backups
- Get SBK
- Build and prepare U-Boot
- Actually flashing U-Boot seems to be where things went wrong
- Running./run_bootloader.sh -s T30 -t ./bct/grouper.bct -b ../re-crypt/repart-block.binor./run_bootloader.sh -s T30 -t ./bct/grouper.bct -b ../generated-wheelie-blobs/AndroidRoot/blob.binfromfusee-toolshung onwaiting for bootloader to initialize
- Running./run_bootloader.sh -s T30 -t ./bct/grouper.bct -b ../u-boot/u-boot-dtb-tegra.binfailed like this
- skipping that step and running./utils/nvflash_v1.13.87205 --resume --rawdevicewrite 0 1024 ../re-crypt/repart-block.binhung on[resume mode]

1/ La burbuja de los centros de datos - El emperador está desnudo
Vamos a analizar la pregunta que lleva tiempo haciéndose la gente: ¿Es una posible burbuja especulativa esto de los centros de datos?
No nos andemos con rodeos: sí así es, eso es así.
Desde primavera de 2025 se está planteando desde sectores financieros que quizás toda esta explosión de Centros de Datos ligados a la IA sea una burbuja especulativa.
La gran apuesta en el sector de tantos actores, especialmente fondos de inversión como BlackStone, KKR, o Blue Owl alimenta ese temor (Farrell, 2025).
2/ La burbuja de los centros de datos - El emperador está desnudo
Algunas de las grandes empresas chinas han comenzado a frenar su inversión en este sector, e incluso advierten de una burbuja como señala el presidente de Alibaba Joe Tsai (Ding, 2025; Marquez, 2025) y alguna de las grandes tecnológicas que tienen inversión en España, como es el caso de Microsoft que también han dado un paso atrás (Day & Vlastelica, 2025).
La alta dependencia de estas infraestructuras de la energía, de una larguísima y opaca cadena de suministros, y de uso de agua en un contexto de emergencia climática e inestabilidad geopolítica hacen que esta inversión no parezca tan estable a ojos de los inversores como parecía al principio.
Los inversores en Centros de Datos se están planteando que es una burbuja, y puede explotar afectando gravemente a todo el mercado internacional. Muchos analistas están estableciendo paralelismos de esta burbuja con la de las Punto.Com (Moreno, 2025) o la de las criptomonedas (Doctorow, 2023). Así lo señalan también diversas compañías de inversión como Goldman Sachs y Apollo (Bryce, 2025; Morris, 2025).
3/ La burbuja de los centros de datos - El emperador está desnudo
A eso se le suma los temores de que la creación de estos Centros de Datos está ligado al surgimiento de la Inteligencia Artificial.
Si esta resulta ser también una burbuja, como están advirtiendo los propios inversores y muchas otras voces (Heraldo de Aragón, 2025; Moreno, 2025) y la IA no complace las expectativas de retorno que han levantado caerá con ella también la especulación en las infraestructuras que la sustentan.
Los bandazos que están pegando las compañías con sus estrategias al respecto de la Inteligencia Artificial, como el caso reciente de Meta, tampoco están ayudando a calmar la situación. (Isaac & Tan, 2025)
Cada vez más economistas comienzan a ver lo que los colectivos críticos con la IA llevan diciendo: El emperador está desnudo, la IA es un juguete caro, innecesario y poco eficaz. Un estudio del MIT ha concluido que el 95% de los proyectos de IA generativa implantados en las empresas han fallado, y los directivos están perdiendo la confianza en su utilidad (Estrada, 2025).
Es tan grande el runrun, que Sam Altam, de OpenAI también ha admitido que la Inteligencia Artificial es una burbuja que puede explotaren cualquier momento (Roth, 2025).
El boom en la construcción de centros de datos que ha habido en los últimos años no ha sido impulsado solamente por el desarrollo de la IA, también por la expansión masiva de servicios en la nube y streaming.
Algunos analistas, como los de las notas a las que refiere esta publicación, comparan esta burbuja con la de las puntocom porque mucha inversión se ha basado en expectativas futuras de demanda, no necesariamente en la rentabilidad inmediata. Lo cual estaría creando un riesgo de sobrecapacidad si la adopción real de ciertos servicios no crece al ritmo esperado.
En lo que respecta al desarrollo de IA, los nuevos modelos son más eficientes energéticamente, y los centros de datos más recientes vienen siendo optimizados para mejorar la relación performance/consumo eléctrico; mejorar la refrigeración líquida -que reduce la energía consumida-; y un aumento del uso de energías renovables y estrategias de eficiencia hídrica (esto siempre de acuerdo a los datos proporcionados por Google y OpenIA).
Si damos algún crédito a esa información, estas mejoras están generando una menor necesidad de expansión inmediata, una reducción del “costo operativo” por unidad de computación; y un ajuste en las proyecciones de inversión. Lo cual no significa que la demanda de servicios vaya a caer, sino que la inversión en infraestructura física se está desacelerando.
Como el mercado no es una entidad natural, sino una construcción histórico-política, económica y tecnológica que produce con una lógica que solo reconoce rentabilidad, la probabilidad de una burbuja y su estallido responden más a cuestiones de interéses antes que a estadísticas o datos concretos.
Es llamativo que el foco de la publicación y del proyecto esté puesto en el desarrollo de la IA y no en los servicios en la nube en general ni en las plataformas de streaming.

Jika diperbandingkan dengan media cetak yang bersifat lokal di wilayah tertentu, penyebaran digital memungkinkan informasi ditemukan oleh siapa saja yang terhubung dengan internet, setiap saat dan dimanapun berada. Ini menjadi keuntungan ekstra besar bagi entitas komersial dan profesional yang ingin mengembangkan jangkauannya, baik secara nasional maupun dunia.
Tak hanya itu, cepatnya pendistribusian juga menjadi faktor kenapa publikasi daring amat digemari. Dalam hitungan menit, konten mampu untuk menyebar ke ribuan hingga jutaan orang. Berbeda dengan metode manual yang membutuhkan waktu beberapa hari bahkan lebih dari seminggu. Cepatnya distribusi ini sangat berkaitan dalam kasus respons darurat, peluncuran produk, atau kampanye digital yang memerlukan respons cepat dari pasar.
Secara anggaran, penyebaran konten digital juga biasanya lebih murah. Sejumlah platform digital yang menawarkan fitur tanpa biaya atau dengan tarif rendah untuk menyebarkan informasi. Bahkan untuk iklan berbayar seperti tulisan sponsor di portal digital, budget yang dibutuhkan masih relatif terjangkau daripada promosi di media cetak atau tayangan TV. Ini membuka peluang luas bagi bisnis mikro, perusahaan rintisan, hingga personal branding untuk mendapatkan eksposur tanpa harus menghabiskan uang banyak.
Pengoptimalan SEO atau SEO juga menjadi komponen strategis dalam perencanaan publikasi online. Konten yang dimuat di laman atau jurnal online, jika disesuaikan dengan optimal menggunakan kata kunci yang relevan, dapat naik peringkat di ranking teratas Google dan meningkatkan kunjungan alami secara besar. Misalnya, posting di LinkedIn perlu diatur lebih formal daripada konten untuk media visual yang cenderung ringan dan bergrafis. Begitu juga dengan memilih jadwal posting yang sesuai dengan aktivitas digital khalayak tujuan agar engagement lebih baik.
Tingkat percaya audiens terhadap isi yang diterbitkan juga menjadi unsur utama. Maka dari itu, menentukan platform publikasi yang berintegritas seperti situs digital populer atau platform terpercaya akan menciptakan kelebihan. Konten yang tampil di situs kredibel tidak hanya mengangkat pengaruh nama, tapi juga menumbuhkan keyakinan prospek customer atau rekan usaha.
Sama pentingnya, penyiaran daring memfasilitasi interaksi dua arah. Lain halnya dengan platform lama yang komunikasinya searah, konten online mendorong pengguna menanggapi secara tanpa jeda melalui balasan, reaksi, bagikan, atau bahkan forum publik. Hal ini mendorong lahirnya wadah bagi wirausaha dan pembuat artikel untuk menciptakan audiens loyal , menyerap respons, dan menyempurnakan penyampaian pesan secara berkelanjutan.
Menyadari macam manfaat yang dimaksud, bukan hal aneh jika penyebaran konten digital kini menjadi bagian integral dari konsep penyampaian informasi online. Italian media publish, presumably, a photo of a Ukrainian arrested in connection with the investigation of the Nord Stream sabotage.
It was previously reported that this is retired Ukrainian Armed Forces captain Sergey Kulinich. On August 22, he will appear in court, after which the process of his extradition to Germany will begin.
The investigation believes that he had about six accomplices.
