Dems didn't mind oligarchs much at all when they were their billionaire industrialists and tech entrepreneurs—not MAGA's. If they support another party, it's automatically anti-democratic (anti-Democrat). "Democracy" has become a social/cultural movement and not a "by the people" thing anymore.
No they did. The tech oligarchs were Democrats, but the party leaders considered them as a resource to be used for their own ends (censorship, control) and to be regulated to prevent them from doing anything the party didn't approve of (crypto, AI).
One of the problems with the Democratic party is that the leadership is composed primarily of Ivy League graduates who worked at an NGO and then went into politics - but never really did anything notable in their lives. The tech oligarchs actually got frustrated with being lorded over by HR ladies, which is why they revolted and backed Trump.
Well maybe you just didn't grok the casual nature about what I was talking about with not minding them. Now hating them is a full-time job. And I think that the full-time job is merely because they can't control them anymore. And they don't support the "democracy" social agenda.

I see. Democratic rank-and-file are able to believe whatever they're told to an obscene extent. They can switch between "It's a private company" and "it's a critical public service that must be regulated" in even the same day without batting an eye. These people would make the 15th century Catholic Church envious.
When you said "the Democrats", I took that to mean their leadership which is the only part of the party which can be said to have any Individual Agency.
But in any case I concur, since they indeed didn't, and don't mind oligarchs, as long as they're able to control them.
