The best part: Her SIL is going through the process of acquiring her citizenship after being here undocumented most of her life. She sees no issues with the ICE raids at immigration court and that protestors are violent. WTF.

To be clear I did not state to her that our friendship is over. We just parted ways (neighbor) on what feels like an impossible to overcome standoff. I cannot see how we can still be friends when she doesn't appear to care about the rest of the world.

I’m still not “over” my lost 20 year friendship as best friends due to him becoming sucked in all the conspiracy theories, anti-vax and he just could not go along with my request to not discuss politics or health/medical issues. We texted each other for a good 8 years almost daily. Doubt I’ll ever really understand how he went that way.

I got a tetanus booster and my employer asked me why. I said tetanus was a horrible way to die, and told him about a local kid that had recently had to be put into a coma and chilled in a dark soundproof place until it had run its course. (He survived) Any sensation could trigger bone breaking spasms. Employer, with newborn, questioned whether it was worth the risk.

oh it’s so hard. But there comes a point where you just have to walk away. Friend of over 50 years during the Covid/Trump times and I parted ways. He was like a brother and once he went full anti vax anti mask Trump was all he talked about. It was like if he couldn’t convert me he’d fight me.
