It's easy to understand why some programmers love their AI assistants and others loathe them: the former group get to decide how and when they use AI tools, while the latter has AI forced upon them by bosses who hope to fire their colleagues and increase their workload.

Can't even imagine what I'd do in this situation. Even something as comparatively simple & straightforward as desktop publishing (back in the day) I discovered very quickly that if a customer brought in a document for modification, it was nearly always MUCH faster just to reconstitute it from scratch than to try to open the existing file, figure out how it was organized, & try to modify it. Especially if it was made by an amateur. I can't imagine this with actual computer code. >
