The apartheid state in Palestine is the root cause of the violence, of the suffering. That is the root cause. Not to mention the fact that the apartheid state is a massive war machine with military capabilities that are fighting mostly kids, civilians. That’s who they’ve been killing for decades, civilians. There’s never been a Palestinian army. So even the even the term the Gaza war, even that term, which so many people use all the time. There is no Gaza war! There’s a genocide going on. And there are groups of courageous Palestinians who are trying to fight for their liberation, or trying to end [the genocide], or at least trying to to slow it down somehow. That is the context.
