Messaging advice for Labour and the Greens:

Climate chaos is *expensive* and it is one of the main drivers pushing up the cost of living. Make this an election issue and hang it around the coalition of denial's collective necks. Get your talking points straight and hammer them.

Housing - damage costs and insurance premiums skyrocketing, making affordability a pipe dream.

Electricity - solar, wind, and batteries are how the cool kids do it now, and are far cheaper than dino dung.

Food - yep, all these 1-in-100 events flood fields and ruin good land.

Water - Heating of the land and oceans dries out soils and puts more water into the air. When it does rain, it comes too hard to do good, and in dry spells pollutants are concentrated.

Infrastructure - it's costing more every year to maintain what's there, let alone build new future-proof assets, and pushing all this onto councils is not tenable.

Global tensions - the rules-based order is broken and hate-based authoritarianism is on the rise. Lots of that is down to mass migration and the disruption caused by refugees not being properly welcomed and proactively integrated into their new homes.
