Well, I got a kitten for George but he’s not black. He’s a light gray tabby with short squiggly little whiskers. At the “adoption event” he was acting just like George, affectionate and playful, so I took him home. He’s a month younger and George is currently establishing dominance, playing but getting too rough sometimes with George on top and the newcomer on his back and growling. I have separated them once and will again. Still, neither are hiding and they both seem very interested in each other.

An argument for the name Abbadon: Saint George’s nemesis was “the dragon,” who doesn’t have a name but is called “the Dragon of the Abyss.” Abbadon is lord of the abyss in Revelation, so would be a fitting name for George’s playmate/frenemy.

@ninapaley@spinster.xyz:

I might adopt another male kitty (hopefully a black one) this weekend, to be a companion for George (who has completely recovered from his harrowing vaccine reaction Wednesday). If so, what should I name it?
