I was reminded by someone that there was a messed up instance we federated with because of an uncompromising value in free speech, but Halo never told us that was the reason, just basically said “lol whatever”. :blobcathmpf: i will look into the federating thing to better understand culpability. Disa federated with many instances to foster open freedom of speech, even if it led to…uncomfortable neighbors, be it politically or paraphilias, that we (the most frequent users of SH) didn’t actually interact with. However, I cannot speak for everyone’s innocence that wasn’t a main member, and I understand how the values held can lead to issues of affiliation (even if we didn’t interact with them on the network or condone their speech)

no it fucking didn’t, everything Disa runs here is legal and strictly enforced. if there was anything, it snuck in when we had open registrations, no one brought it up to our attention, and Halo I’m pretty sure just followed a block list that listed SH erroneously or begrudgingly against us. I don’t think Halo “had a grudge” but instead just did it for the lolz and refused to give any reason to us whatsoever and refused to lift it.
