A couple of days ago, Washington State experienced a bomb cyclone, winds gusted to 101 mph near Vancouver Island, 77 Mph at Mt. Rainier. I had a tree crash down across the street about 50 feet in front of me while driving to the co-lo in Bellevue to reboot a server, then on the way back a limb detached from a tree on the right side of the freeway, flew across three lanes of traffic to land on my windshield. Fortunately it landed sideways rather than end-on so the windshield and I survived the ordeal.
