@Ripper Magoo Honestly I've not cared much for Sony gear, none of their amplifiers had the ability to drive current that woofers demand at the lower end of the frequency range, nor adequate power. Their shortwave receivers, the high end ones, were not bad, but they were also $3k in 1970's money.
was in Best Buy a few years ago looking for a TV, and I drifted over to the audio dept. and was looking over all the equipment. The salesman (a 19 y/o kid) starts talking to me, I tell him I’m just looking, and he asks what sort of audio setup I have. I told him, and he says, “I love that classic old, non-digital stuff”.
It never dawned on me how old my decks are. The last thing I bought was a Pioneer turntable in 1996.
