@Rod Ross I'm really glad you are Orthodox! Catholicism is a joke.

@John Doe I was baptized and Christmated in a Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Presbyter is a Theologian Greek Orthodox from Constantinople. I was told by the head of the Hellenic seminary that I am a sub-deacon. But what you must understand is that 2 of God's angels appeared to me and my family and the first one said to me in a low tone, "You are a part of the body of Christ, you are a member of his Church." And the second said in a very high tone, "Be ready!" I tell you @John Doe that Christ Jesus's Church is not of this world. The Dean who told me I am a sub-deacon who was head of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral and he later was also head of the Greek Orthodox seminary in Boston said, "The pristine church is not of this world." No physical earthy "church" is of God's kingdom. None! You must understand that and seek in spirit that which is not seen. Galatians Chapter 3. Seek Christ Jesus! God bless.
What is Christmated?

It's in the Holy Bible. Sealed with the gift of the Holy Ghost! No other church does that. The other churches have all forgotten but the Greeks have keep that Holy tradition of the Holy Ghost! Amen!
I am born again. One receives the Holy Ghost at salvation, just like Cornelius and his did. It is not dependant upon any man.

Who said anything about man? No less God's angels appeared. Many, many years ago when Paula White was a very, very young lady she attended a Greek Orthodox Church in Florida. She turned her life over to Christ. She saw heavenly Angels and many wonders. If you go there seeking signs and wonders you will see none. No less than God's Angels sealed me and the Greeks said that happens all the time. It's normal. No other church has that blessing or the many other wonders such as the fire miracle at Pascha in the tomb at Jerusalem. None! I could fill this whole site with the miracles I have seen. Things not humanly possible and no one sought them. Things that are in keeping with Pentecost and Lazarus. This is the body of the Apostles.

@baptist_joshua_on_youtube@sysad.org If you have to question that Joshua then you have been baptized and confessed your faith but not been sealed with the gift of the Holy Ghost.. Many are called but few are chosen.
You are part of some demonic activity. Angels do not seal you. God seals a true believer. Many false religions have exciting experiences. That is why we are to try the spirits. Salvation is by grace, through faith. There are zero works involved. No one is saved by "turning their life over to Christ." That sounds like a trade. Like purchasing salvation by future services rendered. When I was saved, I brought nothing to that table. In fact, I was brought.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:19-20

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10

Joshua, you did understand the "Seed" and you do not understand the Holy Ghost. You have blasphemed the Holy Ghost which is unforgivable the Holy Bible tells us. I read God's Word everyday and you want to find fault with me but it is God who I gave and give all praise to. Who said anything about works? God did the work and God gave the seal of the gift of the Holy Ghost. I didn't ask for anything but to reject Satan and all his pomp and to turn to God and Christ Jesus as my savior. Joshua, I was in my parents home which was my home since childhood and at about 9pm when the miracle happened and my parents who did not attend my church witnessed the miracle. We were in awe. My parent's bedroom is on the other side of the house and the whole house was filled with light and the Holy Angels of God spoke the words were heard throughout the whole house. Joshua. this was in my family home! Not in some cult place or such as you suggested. No one was there but my parents! It was totally a surprise! I have been among Baptists many times and been to the Baptist church for years. My neighbor was a lifelong Navy Chaplain and a Baptist Minister. I do not know why you are feel threatened to the point of attacking me but if it gives you any peace just know that your attacks may be rewards in heaven. I do know I will be along side the Apostle Andrew when you stand before the LORD. I pray for you.

I said, quote:

Why pray for me? According to you, I blasphemed the Holy Ghost, so I am lost forever. Go back and reread what I wrote. I did not attack you. I spoke truth, and against your religion/spiritualism.

You claim I understood the "seed." But am eternally lost in that I "blasphemed" the Holy Spirit.

[1Co 2:14 KJV] 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
If you are "Orthodox," then you believe one must do some good work in order to be a Christian.

I'm Orthodox, my fiancee is Roman Catholic and my grandmother is Pentecostal, and they are all Christianity to me. I don't remember when I was baptised because I was only a few months old but I know I will always be an Orthodox Christian. However the Orthodox said Roman Catholics are heretic long time ago and I think they were right all along.

Joshua, you did not understand who is God's chosen or God's "seed". You were like the Galatians in Galatians 3.

If this is not an attack on the Holy Ghost then I do not know what is. And it is an attack on me personally too. I told you I was sealed with the gift of the Holy Ghost and you blasphemed the Holy Ghost.
Quote:

Joshua, you know not what you speak. You know not even what Orthodox means. Ortho means "the way" and dates back to the times of Jesus.

Goodbye Joshua. You know not what you speak of.

@John Doe It's amazing how people know all about something they have never ever even tasted.

1 Corinthians 6

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is
in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 12

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of
God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but
by the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other
tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of
the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now
see and hear.
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost.

John 20

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,
Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Luke 3

16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but
one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to
unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a
voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well
pleased.

Luke 12

10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be
forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not
be forgiven.
12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

Mark 1

8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the
Holy Ghost.

Ephesians 1

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel
of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with
that holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 4

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day
of redemption.
@John Doe you were not baptized biblically. To be baptized, according to scripture, one must already be a Christian. It is after salvation. Also, biblical salvation is immersion in water, not sprinkling.
@John Doe
[Act 8:36-37 KJV] 36 And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
@John Doe as an infant, you did not believe. So that would hinder you from being baptized, as it is for Christian believers only.
John Doe friendica
@baptist_joshua_on_youtube I was raised to believe. This discussion my denomination is better than your denomination is a waste of time. We are not changing anybody's mind, so I'm out.
Baptizo means "to immerse."
[Jhn 3:23 KJV] 23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

If baptism was sprinkling, you would not need much water.
@Rod Ross the verses you posted do not defend your claim.
Which "Orthodox" sect do you two belong to? Eastern? Russian? Greek?
Well, you two keep saying you are Orthodox. There are at least 3 definitions. By the first, I too, am Orthodox. By the second and third, that would speak of sects, Western or Eastern, or Greek.
@John Doe as I understand it, Rod Ross was saying you have to go through some special ceremony, perhaps unique to his sect, in order to receive the Holy Spirit. I simply point out examples in scripture where Cornelius, etc. were saved and needed no man's touch or ceremony.
John Doe friendica
@baptist_joshua_on_youtube I'm Romanian Orthodox. Patriarchate of Romania, is an autocephalous Orthodox church in full communion with other Eastern Orthodox Christian churches, and one of the nine patriarchates in the Eastern Orthodox Church. They are all the same.
[Rom 3:28 KJV] 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
I am a Christian. I believe, as scripture teaches, that salvation is by grace, through faith. No good works are necessary to be saved. They are a result of salvatiin, and not a cause.
