so I decided to go to the christian dating function for young adults that I was invited to out of curiosity. as someone who grew up going to traditional catholic mass, the nondenominational mega church production of it all is new to me and is not something I am used to. the giant screen on stage with highlighted passages and live concert music is all pretty impressive and surely appeals to the 18-20ish year olds that were in attendance. i have never seen so many young christians exclusively congregated together like this before. I got a few welcoming smiles from cute single girls but I did not stay around for the social mixer at the end. I just felt so out of place as someone closer to their 40s than to the age of these kids. not sure if i will come back.
