Finalisant actuellement une présentation dans un cadre professionnel, je dois mettre un slide sur les marchés qui sont le coeur de mes activités: solaire et éolien.
En bon Nerd des Familles, je consulte ma bibliothèque de données proche de la Matrice pour y chercher des informations simples: - quelles sont les projections pour 2030? - quel est le taux de croissance attendu?
Dans les milieux professionnels, on utilise souvent BNEF, AIE ou IRENA. Vous avez aussi des rapports payants (pls milliers d'euros). On sait bien sûr qu'il existe des incertitudes. Pour ceux qui suivent les marchés, on a déjà identifié des risques ou facteurs d'accélération. On cherche donc les rapports officiels qui présentent des courbes à peu près réalistes, puis on indique en commentaires notre vision critique.
Je découvre alors avec stupeur... que les prévisions de 2030 - qui datent d'à peine 2 ans - sont ATTEINTES en 2023. Voilà.
En fait nous avons même atteint en 2023 les chiffres 2030 de la trajectoire STEPS de l'AIE (trajectoire +2.7°C), dont voici la définition

The problem with renewables is they are not 24x7. Batteries over the whole of a power company domain (either centralized or federated -- per home) have not been shown to be:
economical
environmentally safe
practically recyclable at that scale

Recently, I had a disagreement with a fellow, here, on whether electric vehicles had sufficient range for commercial use, and long distance private use. He spouted allusions to all kinds of data. (I'm a data guy!) I told him I didn't believe claims, and I'd have to see the exact data.
As it turned out, two days later, the "press" exposed Tesla and Musk's "fudging" of the range of their vehicles. "Fudging" is a euphemism for fucking lies!
My best source on this is Google tech press releases
Google holds patents on novel architectures for water-based server farm rafts that handle server (water-based) cooling, and server power via tides. So, they care about renewables and are invested in it.
Google intended to build their own network of wind farms offshore and distribution network, so they could avoid the costs and politics of power company power. The lack of continuous availability of peak power draw, scotched that plan.
More recently, they've "decided" to build thorium-based nuclear reactors. Thorium is reputed safer than uranium, but (a) all the public hears is "nuclear", ergo NIMBY will reign supreme, and (b) a nuclear engineer, I know, says that thorium availability depends on nuclear weapon "fuel" processing and doesn't scale to what's needed for electric power reactors. (But, sampling bias on my part!)
Google (and Amazon) has completely changed the architecture of computing:
Multiprocessor cards with max DRAM
Multiple cards per card cage
Multiple card cages in very tall racks.
Multiple racks per aisle.
Multiple aisles per server room.
Automatic allocation of computers to tasks (and domains).
Automatic fail-over for failing cards and cages
Expansive tweaks (at the very least) to the base OS, to well accommodate all of the above.
Robotic diagnosis and replacement of cards and cages. The robots travel on the rails of the specially designed racks.
In brief, when it can, Google changes technology to suit its own purposes. Easy for computing. So far, not tenable for power.
Are you saying renewables don't work?
Absolutely not. But, if renewables are to provide all of the power, then other technologies, such as safely manufactured, and recycled batteries (or like-function energy storers) need to be available at scale, and so far, that's a pipe dream.

Can batteries provide sufficient energy for semis and vans over the distances and masses (weights) of transport? And, can they recharge or be replaced in a timely fashion? Personal auto trek's are secondary.
General Issues
What data can you possibly have, now, that answers the above and below questions?:
Can batteries be safely and economically manufactured and recycled at the scale of replacement of gasoline and diesel, and fossil fuel electric generators?
Lithium is rare. And, I would need to see actual years long usage data that proves it's adequate to the task for transport, now.
Lead is poisonous and inadequate.
Sodium remains an unknown.
Can the manufacturing, recycling, and operation infrastructure be built given the inadequacies and uncertainties of all of the above?
WRT power generation and distribution, recharging depends on surplus from the extent and consistency of renewable energy
Power Company Scale Replacement (centralized or federated)
Centralized or federated, where will the batteries be safely stored in buildings that were never intended to store them?
In warm climes, the increasing heat of climate change would seem to preclude storing them outside, or in an out-building that is not itself cooled. Cooling required further energy.
Conclusion
For the third and last time, I am not saying the problem is insoluble. I am saying that currently available technologies don't solve it, and a timely path of deployment is neither obvious, nor perhaps possible. And, claims to the contrary do not make it so, nor do false equivalencies of my knowledge and POV with Fox horseshit.

Шесть лет колонии строгого режима Сочинский гарнизонный военный суд назначил мобилизованному Зуфару Ахтямову за отсутствие на службе с 20 ноября по 24 марта. В суде рядовой Ахтямов рассказал, что 25 октября был призван по мобилизации, но сбежал во время увольнительной, потому что ему "было страшно погибнуть при выполнении боевых задач". Через Турцию он попал в Грузию, где месяц укрывался у родственников зятя, но после вернулся в Россию. Ахмятова задержали при пересечении российско-абхазской границы 24 марта – в непризнанную республику он выезжал на заработки.
Южный окружной военный суд в Ростове утвердил приговор Пятигорского гарнизонного суда в отношении контрактника Бориса Солощенко. Он заключил контракт с Минобороны в сентябре прошлого года, а 29 января он оставил свою часть. До середины марта Солощенко оставался дома, затем сам явился в военный следственный отдел. Гарнизонный суд ранее приговорил военнослужащего к пяти с половиной годам колонии несмотря на просьбы защиты учесть его раскаяние и участие в войне в Украине. На апелляции адвокаты настаивали, что в войсковой части с осужденным не проводилась необходимая подготовка, а после возвращения ему потребовалась медицинская помощь, восстановление сил и здоровья – окружной суд отклонил возражения, оставив приговор в силе.
Пять лет за самовольное оставление части условно получил контрактник Александр Тонцев – приговор вынес Новороссийский гарнизонный военный суд. Военный отсутствовал на службе с 17 февраля по 21 марта этого года, проживая в самом Новороссийске и Сальске соседней Ростовской области. Смягчающими обстоятельствами суд признал "участие в специальной военной операции", признание вины и награждение государственной наградой.
Буденновский гарнизонный военный суд в Ставропольском крае назначил пять с половиной лет условно Владиславу Гусейнову, отсутствовавшему на службе с 9 января по 5 марта. В суде Гусейнов отказался от дачи показаний, сославшись на ст.51 Конституции, позволяющую не свидетельствовать против себя. Гарнизонный суд учел юный возраст обвиняемого и признание им вины, поэтому приговор оказался условным.
В Сочи мобилизованного москвича Алексея Смородинского признали виновным в дезертирстве – он сбежал из части, опасаясь отправки на войну против Украины. За пять месяцев отсутствия на службе контрактник получил пять с половиной лет колонии общего режима.
Два с половиной года колонии получил контрактник из Дагестана Абдурашид Тюльпаров. Из приговора Махачкалинского гарнизонного суда следует, что он не вернулся в 136-ю мотострелковую бригаду в Буйнакске. Защита попыталась оспорить решение в Южном окружном военном суде, но апелляция отказалась снизить срок.
Контрактника из Ставрополья арестовали за двойную неявку на отправку в Украину. Марата Батдыева Ставропольский гарнизонный военный суд признал виновным в грубом дисциплинарном проступке – он дважды не являлся при сборе сослуживцев "в командировку", так в документах Минобороны называют участие в войне против Украины. Батдыеву назначен дисциплинарный арест – 20 суток на гауптвахте.
Пять лет и три месяца колонии Волгоградский гарнизонный военный суд назначил контрактнику Игорю Андрееву. The article is interesting, @Frank Nitsch. But also interesting as a glimpse into science business, I think, which has lots to do with publicity, marketing, media.
They start saying, Freud was wrong about almost everything. Then they give some striking examples at first. But if I saw right now by quickly reading a bit, after that they mostly write where Freud was seemingly NOT wrong, contradicting themselves from where they started.
Feels a bit like professional strategy, like saying "I can show you that everything you believe is wrong." And people go like "Wow! Really?" And you got them listening and be the man.
Basically I wouldn't take anyone too seriously who claims to know better about my mind than I do. And if I don't know myself, then I'm the one who should find out. I think they can all just have ideas, suggestions. That's how it usually is in science and even more in psychology.
I think "uninspected" might be a better term. After all, Freud was interested in knowing his patients, and not necessarily treating them. While many people benefit from sharing, not all do, and not all care to.
Christian, you are referring to click baiting, which is for sure something that almost all writers or especially online authors use. I have to disagree regarding this very article. Already the headline says that Freud is still relevant despite all the wrong conclusions he had drawn.
It's possible I saw more what I thought before. I skimmed through it quite quickly. I was thinking of normal science, where people don't do any less what people normally do more often; make themselves important, want to make a name for themselves, want a career and so on.
Psychoanalysis was not meant as a cure but as a tool.to learn more about the patients.
I agree. I don't know much about psychology. But the interesting part is always to think and talk about. It becomes dangerous when people want to try plumbing around in other people's heads and the others just "believe".

Нобелевский фонд намерен пригласить послов России и Беларуси на церемонию вручения премий 2023 года в Стокгольме, которая состоится 10 декабря. Об этом сообщили в пресс-службе организации.
В обращении к прессе организаторы Нобелевской премии заявили, что послы всех стран, которые имеют дипломатические представительства в Швеции и Норвегии, соответственно, будут приглашены на церемонию вручения премий.
По словам исполнительного директора Нобелевского фонда Видара Хельгесена, современный мир "продолжает делиться на сферы", что осложняет диалог между людьми с противоположными взглядами. "Чтобы противостоять этой тенденции, сегодня мы расширяем круг приглашенных лиц, чтобы торжественно отметить Нобелевский день и понять важность свободной науки, свободной культуры и свободных, мирных обществ", – заявил он.
Это заявление, как отмечает агентство Reuters, означает, что представители РФ и Белоруссии вновь смогут присутствовать на подобных мероприятиях.

Ces derniers jours, Paris joue son va-tout... en attisant au maximum ces tensions:
Maintien coûte que coûte (lesechos.fr/monde/afrique-moye…) d'un ambassadeur qui a reçu l'ordre de quitter le territoire, refus catégorique de retirer ses militaires, dont l'ultimatum pour quitter le pays expire le 3 septembre, ou encore déclarations diplomatiques (republicain-lorrain.fr/defense…) totalement hors sol.
La réflexion est simple, espérer une escarmouche avec les putschistes - ou un drame - pour justifier une intervention militaire de moins en moins probable.

Зерновая сделка, по которой продовольствие вывозилось из заблокированных Россией черноморских портов, была заключена в июле 2022 года. Четырёхстороннее соглашение подписали представители Украины и России при участии Турции и ООН. В соглашении оговаривались условия беспрепятственного экспорта сельхозпродукции по Чёрному морю из российских и украинских портов под гарантии посредников.
17 июля Россия вышла из зерновой сделки. Москва заявила, что часть договоренностей, касающихся экспорта российских удобрений и продовольствия, не выполнена.
С 18 июля российские войска начали регулярно обстреливать Одесскую область, уничтожая портовую инфраструктуру. При этом причинами обстрелов Кремль назвал атаку на Крымский мост в ночь на 17 июля.
В конце июля источники The Wall Street Journal сообщали, что Путин игнорирует запросы Эрдогана о переговорах вокруг возобновления зерновой сделки. Телекомпания НТВ готовит фильм об актрисе и соучередительнице фонда «Подари жизнь» Чулпан Хаматовой и под этим предлогом собирает сведения о доходах и расходах благотворительной организации. Письмо НТВ к фонду передал The Insider источник в телекомпании. Предположительно, пропагандисты отрабатывают заказ на устранение фонда и для этого собирают на него компромат. Об этом рассказал источник в фонде, а также это предположение косвенно подтвердили в окружении экономиста Никиты Кричевского, который написал обличительный пост о финансовой отчетности благотворительной организации, являющийся продолжением прошлогодних обвинений «Комсомольской правды».
Как следует из письма НТВ, сотрудников программы «ЧП. Расследование» интересует остается ли Чулпан Хаматова соучредителем фонда и может ли фонд предоставить соответствующие документы, продолжает ли актриса поддерживать фонд, как повлиял ее отъезд из страны на деятельность фонда и т.д. Отдельным пунктом редакция программы попросила фонд предоставить документы о бухгалтерской отчетности за 2021, 2022 и 2023 годы.
Сразу после запроса НТВ экономист Никита Кричевский опубликовал пост в своем Telegram-канале, в котором заявил, что фонд проводит махинации с финансовой отчетностью. В посте Кричевский утверждает, что цифры отчета фонда, сданного в Минюст, «не бьются» с данными баланса на сайте ФНС. «Видимо, аудитор фонда «Росэкспертиза» получила документацию позже подачи отчета в Минюст и начала вносить правки. Причем, если за 2021 г. аудиторское заключение есть, то за 2022 г. – нет», – пишет экономист. «Только эти нарушения уже означают смертный приговор НКО от Минюста», – заключает он.
Также у Кричевского вызывает вопросы расхождение, связанное с расходами на стройку детского пансионата в Измалково. «В балансе за 2021 г. в строке 1190 «прочие внеоборотные активы» (аудитор пишет, что это стройка) стоит 1 млрд. 014 млн. руб. Однако в балансе за 2022 г. по этой строке значится всего 141 млн руб. Куда делись 873 млн руб., и как стройка исчезла с баланса? И была ли она вообще - гламурные фоточки на любом объекте можно сделать», – отмечает он.
Директор фонда Екатерина Шергова опубликовала опровержение с подробным разъяснением по финансовой отчетности организации за последние три года. Она пишет, что в отчетности все верно, и подана она была своевременно, но с опозданием на семь дней продублирована на сайте фонда.
По словам Шерговой, несоответствие цифр отчета в Минюст данным на сайте ФНС за 2021 год объясняется тем, что отчет в Минюст — это документ о расходах и сравнивать его с «Первой формой» (Форма по ОКУД 0710001) бухгалтерского баланса, в которой указаны остатки на конец года, «как минимум некорректно, а для экономиста, коим считает себя автор блога, непрофессионально». Корректно было бы сравнивать отчет в Минюст с формой по ОКУД 0710003, подчеркивает директор фонда. «Если сложить все расходы из отчета Минюсту за 2021 год, то получится 1 734 026 тысяч рублей. В бухгалтерском балансе (строка 6300) — 1 736 178 тысяч рублей», – говорится в пояснении.
Шергова объясняет также, что расхождение в 2152 тысячи рублей в расходах на стройку связано с тем, что технический заказчик стройки детского пансионата в Измалково сдал акт о проделанной работе за декабрь 2021 года лишь в июне 2022 года, пишут в фонде.
Про 873 млн, на исчезновение которых указывает Кричевский, говорится в «Пояснительной записке к балансу», уточняет Шергова: «873 млн никуда не делись, они по прежнему учитываются в строительстве. В том числе по строке 1150 («объекты незавершенного строительства») — 257 196 тыс. рублей и в строке 1230 («дебиторская задолженность») — 1 054 389 тыс рублей». Она добавляет, что стройка детского пансионата действительно продолжает развиваться, фонд регулярно пишет об этом и публикует новые фотографии.
Кричевский пишет и об операциях с криптовалютами (через покупку ценных бумаг). «Сколько из 1 млрд выведено из страны через крипту?», – спрашивает он. На это Шергова отвечает, что фонд не рассчитывается криптовалютой за услуги и товары, а все пожертвования в криптовалюте принимает партнерский фонд Podari.Life, расположенный в США. «В бухгалтерской отчетности фонда «Подари жизнь» нет средств, связанных с криптовалютой: мы принимаем пожертвования только в рублях, долларах и евро», – подчеркивает директор фонда.
Кроме того, экономист заявляет, что «Подари жизнь» с балансом в 4,5 млрд руб. «сидит на УСН!» «Фонд живет за счет процентов к получению (за 2022 г. – 183 млн руб). Видимо, к отчетной дате фонд разбрасывает средства по банковским вкладам или ценным бумагам (без налоговиков и следователей мы снова не разберемся) и получает проценты. Приблизительно ту же схему для уменьшения налогов в свое время использовал ЮКОС», – утверждает Кричевский.
На это Шергова отмечает, что «в посте произошла некая подмена понятий». «Никакой связи между режимом налогообложения и бухгалтерским балансом не существует. Применение режима УСН зависит от «заработка» организации. В случае фонда «Подари жизнь» это выручка (в 2022 году она составила 3 900 рублей 53 копейки, эта сумма поступила от компании «ОККО» за покупку прав на показ концерта к 15-летию фонда «Не смотри назад»)», – пишет она.
«Почему Минюст, ФНС, СКР не замечают нарушений? Ответ может быть только один – очень мощная крыша. Директор фонда Шергова в личном разговоре намекала на АП, возможно, для отвода глаз. В любом случае, фонд помощи больным деткам – шикарная ширма для сверхуспешного бизнес-проекта, много лет приносящего своим кукловодам миллиарды. А мы продолжим скидываться по 100 руб. (самое популярное пожертвование) на чью-то безбедную жизнь», – заключает в своем посте экономист.
Источник в фонде «Подари жизнь» уверен, что этот пост и фильм НТВ — часть компании по уничтожению фонда. Собеседник отметил, что пристальное внимание к фонду появилось с того момента как Чулпан Хаматова уехала из России. «За фондом всегда пристально следили, но всякая грязь полилась в большом количестве, когда она уехала», — рассказал источник. Актриса покинула страну 21 марта 2022 года, после начала военных действий в Украине. После этого она подписала два обращения к российским властям с призывом остановить войну. 15 декабря Владимир Путин убрал Хаматову из попечительского совета фонда «Круг добра».
Знакомые с ситуацией из окружения Кричевского рассказали редактору The Insider, что претензии к фонду появились еще в апреле прошлого года, когда пропагандист из «Комсомольской правды» Эдвард Чесноков обвинил благотворительную организацию в отмывании около 1 млрд рублей. Тогда руководство «Подари жизнь» подробно ответило на все обвинения. Как выяснилось, Чесноков дружит с Кричевским, и его пост об отчетности фонда продолжает обвинения пропагандиста «КП». OK, after playing for a bit tonight (and spending most of the time doing random shit) my veredict is:

It's not the worst game ever, and I was honestly surprised that my experience was pretty much bug-free, but still, it's a "mid" game at best.
It has some interesting mechanics in the lockpicking and persuasion parts, but ultimately it's a Bethesda RPG. And I don't really like Bethesda RPGs, as I mentioned I never got into Elder Scrolls and shit like that.
I think one of the problems I have with those games are that they have a sort of "fake depth" in them. Sure, you can break in anywhere you want and loot all the random, worthless junk you find. How many mugs you want? 10? 20? We got you! Here, have half a dozen fire extinguishers, a couple microscopes and another 20 beakers too. ARE YOU FEELING IMMERSED YET?
Sure, we have 4 dialogue options for you to pick from. All of them will lead to the exact same result, with maybe some more plot exposition in some of them. But you have 4 dialogue options, think about all the possibilities! I mean, you won't be able to say "no" to the plot mission doesn't matter what you do, because this railroad has no junctions, and the train has no brakes, baby!
The fact you don't have vehicles and the landing/take-off a planet and traveling to another planets/systems is done via loading screens is also a bummer, specially when this band of retards figured how to do it somewhat seamslessly 7 years ago. And not only they reek of soy, they were also a team a hundred times smaller than Bethesda with way less budget. The only thing they didn't have was diversity hires, I guess.
I also found exploration to not be that engaging, and it's even a bit annoying. They padded the exploration/scanning side of the game making you having to scan the same thing a dozen times to finally have it fully scanned (and no, you can't scan the exact same thing a dozen times, you'll have to find a dozen instances of that same thing and scan every one of them once to get the scan results). Planets are even emptier than NMS ones.
The thing the game might have over NMS is that it has handcrafted missions, places and characters, which make them more interesting than the procedurally generated stuff you find in NMS, even though the procedurally generated stuff in NMS makes the exploration a bit more compelling, at least in the first few hours I played.
So, overall, I had more fun exploring around and doing random shit in NMS than I've had playing Starfield so far, even though NMS had some quirks and bugs that annoyed me. I found the exploration more compelling in NMS, the crafting/building is also cool and fits well with the exploration, and even with shit being procedurally generated in NMS, the planets felt a bit more alive than the planets in Starfield.
Now, I know they aren't really the same genre of games, but it's hard to not compare. NMS is, ultimately, a sandbox space exploration with a campaign mission tackled onto it to appease people who need to be hand guided to their fun. Starfield is a Bethesda RPG that promises to also be a cool space exploration, and that turns it into a mid RPG with a subpar exploration sandbox tackled onto it.

In a recent interview with The Epoch Times, John Christy, a climatologist and professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, dismissed the narrative of record high temperatures.
“Regionally, the West has seen its largest number of hot summer records in the past 100 years, but the Ohio Valley and Upper Midwest are experiencing their fewest,” he said.
“For the conterminous U.S. as a whole, the last 10 years have produced only an average number of records. The 1930s are still champs.” ... The coalition pointed out that Earth’s climate has varied as long as it has existed, with the planet experiencing several cold and warm phases. The Little Ice Age only ended as recently as 1850, they said.
"Therefore, it is no surprise that we now are experiencing a period of warming," the declaration said.
Warming is happening “far slower” than predicted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
“Climate models have many shortcomings and are not remotely plausible as policy tools,” the coalition said, adding that these models "exaggerate the effect of greenhouse gases" and "ignore the fact that enriching the atmosphere with CO2 is beneficial.” For instance, even though climate alarmists characterize CO2 as environmentally-damaging, the coalition pointed out that the gas is “not a pollutant.”
Have you investigate the matter? The hysteria is not backed by irrefutable evidence. This is, and a lot of it, plus I personally know of other sources that confirm the same data.
As in, they present the same data, independently, that confirms this data. The Greenland ice core samples confirm this data. What credible information counters it?
Temperatures have been steadily rising for centuries, approximately twelve, now people have politized it. And, are attempting to make money off of it. i.e. Carbon offset credits. Actual science, that is empirical date, is very disruptive to this fallacious claim.
It's as much a scam as covid was, and it is the next 'thing' to capture peoples attention, and cause fighting among the people. Which are the wrong people to be fighting, as they have engineered.
This climate hysteria amounts to manufacturing consent for war on it's own citizens. That is what supporting the climate agenda is, a war on people. Pollution is bad, and should be dealt with, anthropogenic climate change hysteria is contrived.
@Martin Whale What are the motives of the climate emergency group? There are not many. Money…the end. The anti-science crowd that backed covid stupidity are all now all about climate change.
And, with the same unabashed hysteria and horribleness. Exactly the same in fact. Horrible people, don’t get sucked into another one of their hysterical money making scams. Shame the ‘unbeliever’, because you need faith to buy any of this.
If people learned the science then they would start trusting science and not scientists so much. Science is a process for arriving at an understanding of how things work, Scientists are people who can be bought off just like politicians, at least the more mediocre ones.
@Dwayne Parsons It may create division but if the reality of this scam isn't brought to light it is going to cause continued economic decline and people on the lower end of the economic scale are going to die, so division it's going to have to be. If I had my way I'd divide Klaus Schwabs head from his shoulders.
