EDIT: that is probably not exactly how it works, but it kinda depends on which of the myriad of ActivityPub servers is seeing the boost, and I haven't checked all of them on how they decide what to pull in. For sure, having someone follow an account on the friendica server will have that friendica server push updates to the server of the follower, but other than that? Who knows :)

You're right, though many people sharing 'collective blame' &/or guilt truly worked towards a more desirable/sane/democratic outcome in the last election. And many sounded alarms. But but... the #cult is too big and too entrenched to have stopped his being elected, so not our personal fault, but our collective participation perhaps, in not calling out more crazy/illegal stuff early on. Many did.

You know what? These guys removed Denuvo from their game before releasing it in Early Access, and by what I've heard people say, this is everything The Sims never got to be, and the game has more content in this early access stage than The Sims has with all of EA's greedy DLCs.

I think Krafton is a decent company, I really enjoyed Subnautica, and the price tag for this game is not so ridiculous.

I guess I'm gonna buy it so I can play pretend as a cute e-girl.

I am so tired about "I didn't vote for Musk" argument. I didn't vote for all those federal employees that took a quarter acre of my property and declared it a wet land without any recourse. How many departments does the federal government have and none of the folks running them were elected.

On the 30th of March, we proudly and honorably remember the epic of the Eternal Land Day, when our people in the Naqab, the Triangle, the Galilee, and all parts of occupied Palestine since 1948 rose up on the land of their fathers and forefathers. With bare chests, they faced the zionist machinery of oppression in defense of their land, dignity, and existence. Third: Through national unity, we can confront the crimes of genocide, displacement, and uprooting, and remain steadfast in the face of occupation. In this context, we warn against the enemy’s attempts—and its agents’—to inflame internal contradictions and plunge the Palestinian arena into more division and fragmentation. Fourth: What is happening today in Gaza—the resumption of genocide, intensification of the blockade, and a war of starvation under American cover after a period of pause—is a continuation of the policy of war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, who seeks to sustain the aggression to preserve the stability of his ruling coalition at the expense of innocent blood. In the face of this escalation and the horrific crimes being committed around the clock in Gaza, the resistance will continue using all available options to stop the aggression and compel the occupation to implement the understandings and agreements it has violated. This is primarily an Arab responsibility, which demands that they move beyond weakness and inaction, and work seriously to end the aggression and break the siege—using every pressure tool at their disposal to stop this criminal war.
Fifth: Palestine will remain the compass of the nation and the free people of the world in the battle of truth against oppression and occupation. This requires intensifying the struggle against normalization and activating all forms of boycott against the occupation, as well as escalating pressure to stop the aggression and hold the occupation leaders and their supporters accountable as war criminals. Amid the decline in popular momentum, the time has come to revive it in the streets, universities, and unions, and to resume massive demonstrations around the world in support of our steadfast people facing genocide.

Sixth: We renew our call to our people in the occupied interior to boycott the occupation’s institutions that legitimize its crimes, genocidal wars, aggressive schemes, and racist laws. Boycott is a decisive national message in confronting displacement, uprooting, Judaization, normalization, and policies of oppression and racial discrimination. It is an affirmation of Palestinian identity in the face of attempts to portray the occupation as a democratic state, while in reality, it is a settler-colonial entity founded on killing, massacres, and destruction, driven by dark messianic Torah-based tendencies.

O our people everywhere,

Land Day is a pledge and loyalty—a message to the usurper that we remain here, like the olives of the Galilee, the rocks of Carmel, the oranges of Yaffa, and the sea of Gaza. We renew our commitment to our people, martyrs, female prisoners, and prisoners to continue the path of resistance and struggle until Palestine is free from the river to the sea.

guys i think i figured out how to prevent youtube from showing (or waiting for adblocked) ads in firefox. this is a temporary workaround until they fix the freetube issue.

- open freetube like normal to get your list of videos
- open a firefox window
- on each vid in freetube, use the ... open in browser link. (this will show an ad once)
- after each video, leave that tab open, and open the next video in a new tab
- if you leave the previous tab open, the new tab won't show an ad at the start

They are obsessed with gaming and keep living in their parents house They refuse to work and just keeps indulging in self pity They cant even do pushups They dont know what a woman is and they cant read a watch and heir vocabulary is like a 12 yr

I remember a guy that helped repair a BMW dashboard.

According to the BMW mechanics the whole thing was kaput and needed to replaced for an unrealistic sum.

So this guy that was running a company for inventions, did something like that. And showed me that he changed one resistor, perhaps half a cent. And that was all. Dashboard good as new.

How to wget large files from one server to another

Hi there,
a technical question not directly related to friendica itself.

Trying to transfer an instance from on (shared hosting) server to a debian/ubuntu VPS that's building up.
The problem now is that the DB is around 3.7 gig so I tried to pull the file with wget.

The server responds with:
rootName@VPShosting:/var/storage# wget https://domain.com/folder/DB.sql.bz2
..
Connecting to domain.com (domain.com)|xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx|:443... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 413 Request Entity Too Large
ERROR 413: Request Entity Too Large

Can't find a solution on the web.
Google even manages to point to howTo's behind paywall's or subscribe pages, so much about enshittification ..

Did find nginx references but do not have nginx.

Also found for php.ini the following, obviously the values a relative:

max_input_time = 24000
 max_execution_time = 24000
 upload_max_filesize = 12000M
 post_max_size = 24000M
 memory_limit = 12000M

As of now changed:

 upload_max_filesize = 8000M
 post_max_size = 8000m
and memory limit shows
memory_limit = -1
so that's probably not the point.

The error message stays the same.

The input_time and execution_time should kick in in any case while downloading the file.

Ideas how to solve this?

I am confused. If you do not have ssh access, sftp will fail.

two server

  • server 1
    shared hosting
    hosts the file
    access over sftp
    no access over SSH
    access over https, locating the file in a public folder, access with wget, works at least up to 1.9gig
  • server2
    VPS hosting
    access over SSH
    never intended or tested to access over sFTP till now
    needs/requests the 3.7gig file


Probable sFTP option:
