Yankee Imperialism Intends to Send Troops to the Panama Canal


Donald Trump announced on April 10 that he would send troops to the Panama Canal under the guise of confronting the growing Chinese influence in the region. Nova Democracia (AND) reports that the announcement came two days after Peter Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, stated that he would not allow China or any other country to interfere with U.S. plans for the canal. On Wednesday, he stated: “The Panama Canal is key territory that must be secured by Panama with America, and not with China.” The Panama Canal handles 40 percent of U.S. imperialist container trade and 5 percent of global trade.

The exact number of troops to be sent to Panama is still unknown, but AND reports that they may be stationed near the Canal, and warships will be able to use the canal for free and with priority. According to local media, U.S. troops may use several other facilities to deploy their forces: The Teniente Octavio Rodríguez Air Base of the National Aeronaval Service located in Panama Pacific; the Vasco Núñez de Balboa naval base; the naval base Captain of Frigate DEM. Noel A. Rodríguez; the Cristóbal Colón Naval Air Base.

The agreement reached by the Panamanian lackey government led by President José Raúl Mulino with U.S. imperialism has been strongly criticized by activists and local movements, who denounce that this movement is an invasion. There were already strong protests and flag burnings when Trump announced his interest in securing control of the Panama Canal earlier this year.

AND reminds Panama’s key role for U.S. imperialist interests: “The Panama Canal functioned as a military and commercial base controlled by the Americans until 1999, when, worn down after decades of conflicts against the popular masses of Central America, the Yankees handed over formal control of the route to the Panamanian government. Panama was also home to the School of the Americas, a U.S. military center run by the Pentagon to train Latin American military personnel in counterinsurgency strategies and combatting the ‘internal enemy‘. ” Furthermore, AND explains that this return of U.S. military presence occurs “amid intense conflicts of interest between U.S. imperialism and Chinese social-imperialism,” in which the latter has carried out numerous operations and added several countries to its project known as the “New Silk Road.” Thus, U.S. imperialism is making this move alongside other actions such as military exercises in Latin American countries and along the coasts of Central and South America, as well as direct military interventions in Peru and Colombia.

L’assertion du type Bernard Blier marche pour eux en changeant le premier mot. Voilà une « ONG » qui n’en est pas une, puisqu’elle a avec constance touché de l’argent des USA et d’Israël, voilà qu’en novembre, dans son « Bilan Annuel de la liberté de la presse dans le monde », elle refuse de compter les journalistes assassinés par Israël à Gaza ! En effet pour RSF les martyrs de presse Palestiniens ne sont pas de « vrais journalistes ». Du type Robert Ménard.

Et voilà qu’aujourd’hui, à Paris et à Marseille, cette OG (organisation Gouvernementale) rejoint l’appel d’une cohorte d’honnêtes gens pour protester contre les crimes israéliens commis contre les journalistes à Gaza ! Faut vraiment être culotté.

Nous avons eu la preuve par Trump que RSF est un mistigri piloté par les US : RSF a protesté contre la coupure des crédits exigée par le blondinet qui règne à la Maison Blanche. Cette pleurnicherie était un aveu, Washington ne verse plus de sous aux héritiers de Ménard ce qui « met en danger la liberté de la presse ». Disent-ils. Il faut entendre ou lire ce paradoxe pour le croire. Donc, puisque Trump garde ses sous, la puce change d’âne et RSF entend taper la caisse de l’Europe (qui lui verse déjà un million d’euro par an).

Résumons. RSF a vécu de l’argent américain et israélien, et un peu des largesse de Bongo. En Echange RSF a toujours très bien classé Israël dans son « Palmarès mondial de la démocratie », et tant pis pour les journalistes Palestiniens, et quelques occidentaux, assassinés par Tel Aviv. Miracle et nouveau marketing, cette engeance que Macron à naguère nommée pour assurer la police au sein de la presse, s’en vient pleureur sur Gaza. Ménard reviens ils sont devenus fous !

Bernie #Sanders has been repeatedly uttering the phrase “Israel has a right to defend itself” on his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour with Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, which in the year 2025 can only be interpreted as blatant genocide apologia.

#Israel does not have “a right to defend itself” against an occupied population in a giant concentration camp. Under international law it has a right to end the occupation, and that’s it. “Israel has a right to defend itself” is just a slogan people say when they want to justify supplying an ongoing genocide.

At one point in the tour Sanders stood passively watching as police dragged off rally attendees who draped a Free #Palestine flag over the #US flag during his speech. He just awkwardly continued monologuing as their flag was confiscated and they were forcibly removed, even as the crowd booed and eventually began chanting “Free Palestine”. [...]
